If this happens, I just hope the owner(s) are committed with money. We shall see. Article said there is a release from the MISL to be issued next week. Again, we shall see....

if it does not work the owners need to be committed for beating a dead horse in to the ground it has not worked for the last 7 or 8 teams so how can it work now ??

They can move through those pretty quick, because only a small number actually graduate, except for Bartlett.

April 30: The Chicago Kick took the next step to becoming the MISL's eighth franchise earlier this week... but I have no idea what that step was...

its under construction. They probably will have a new logo, maybe with KICK energy if that is indeed going through. I mean, i ridiculed that logo when I first saw it in a meeting...it was awful

Its not under construction.. their domain name expired and they didn't renew, so its got a placeholder with Network Solutions. Domains cost about $30.. Maybe they didn't know it expired.

Definately not a case of the domain expiring, according to WHOIS the domain is registered through October 2017 to a someone at "Links Technology". If I had to guess ... its either being redesigned or someone forgot to pay the hosting bill to Links, so they yanked it. Could be a mistake too, who knows.

Taking the entire website down for a redesign would seem a little strange tho ... so ...

    1. Does anyone know when the MISL BOG meeting is? I was told sometime this month, but...
    2. Can someone else contact Tim Holt at USL and ask him about MISL plans, intentions, expansion, TV, etc? Maybe get team booster clubs to do mass e-mailings. Not trying to cause trouble or be a nuisance, but there never seems to be a very good connect between league and the general fan base. Maybe everyone could offer suggestion to improve this area. I have suggested before that the league do a weekly news release with a general state of the league, what the players are doing in the off season, trivia, history, and so on.
    3. Maybe do the same as above with indivdual teams. Send it to their PR POC. Simply to see where they are during the off season.
    4. I just don't see other sports and leagues shutting down like the MISL tends to do.

You might want to post this elsewhere, since this was about Chicago, which isn't in the MISL, and probably won't be.

Meeting is this weekend, Chicago is still trying, for whatever that's worth. Heard nothing on Buffalo or Uttica (the only other expansion clubs I've even heard a little wind of)

There is something in the works for Chicago. Only thing is no one knows whether it's going to be for MISL or PASL. As I stated in an earlier post, once the MISL got a look at Gamboa's financial papers, they would bolt right out the door. Guy has over $2 million in debt...and that's just what is reported. It's much more than that in cash terms.
If the group that is heading up the new Chicago team can do it, I think it will be a much better go around this time. Call me a fool for being optimistic, but I think it will be.

Never understand this stuff, why get involved with a team if you have no money (not mention the league allowing it). Look at the MISL 2 version of the Sockers. What is the point? They bought the team and were gone in a few games. Joke. Why do it at all? You will have to spend money. Do these morons think that they will get an amazing profit off the first game at their home? Even in the PASL, you must imagine spending a few dollars. Who knows, maybe you don't...that's why Tatu decided to put the Sidekicks name on a league that he will coach in barns holding no more than a couple 100 if they can even sell that. Thanks Tatu for pissing on the history of the sport. Mark my words, Tatu will play, and he will end up being the MVP of the "league" at whatever age he is. They'll name the MVP title after him and 5 people in the country will party. So freaking stupid, a PRO league pays players, and it CAN WORK, if you don't have morons working for you or owning the damn team. Do I own a team? HELL NO. Do you know why? I HAVE NO MONEY. However, I'm sure, I could buy a PASL team.

Please note Utica only has one "t". It is named after the ancient Phoenician/Carthaginian port in North Africa.
