Sounded pretty professional to me also - more professional that some recent Fire radio spots. However, not having ever been to and MISL game, I was shocked to hear a "teen" after the "seven" for starting ticket prices. That's the same price as my Cadillac Club seats at Soldier Field.
Here are the other individual ticket prices around the league (*except for California, which doesn't list them and apparently doesn't have a Ticketmaster relationship - what's listed are their season ticket per-game prices. I'm guessing individual tickets are slightly higher than that.): Baltimore Blast $14, $17, $10 California Cougars* $8.75, $12, $15, $18, $24 St. Louis Steamers $12, $16, $20, $30 Philadelphia KiXX $17, $18, $22, $25 Milwaukee Wave $10.50, $12.50, $14.50, $18.50 You can get in any building in the league except Philadelphia for less than you can in Chicago (and I don't quite understand the Philly thing - they don't draw that well anymore and the Spectrum is a pit). Even in St.Louis - the best arena in the league - you can get in for $12.
no mention aleaguer that we don't have the highest ticket price or the fact that Chicago is a major city market, with things here across the board more expensive than these other cities the MISL is presently operating in....no matter we say or do, won't change the pricing....it is what it is, like it or not...Sorry....as someone said, why not point out the positives why focus on what is perceived to be the negative? and oh yeah **** GO SOX!!!!!**** just checked ticketmaster website, baltimore goes to 14-20 , the wave, their lowest seat is 12, where did you find the 10.50? some of what you posted i can't find, and still storm is NOT out of line with rest of league...
In the Chicago market, the Blackhawks have $10 and $15 seats available while the Wolves (AHL hockey) have $9, $13, and $16 seats available. The Storm will play most of their home games Sunday and will often be directly up against the Blackhawks, who have many Sunday home games at an arena about a mile away. The fact that the Storm is in the competitive Chicago market suggests that their ticket prices should be lower not higher. The Blackhawks and Wolves have figured that out.
Your lowest-priced ticket is what I'm focusing on. $17 as your lowest ticket price is too high and is going to be proven to be too high. Which is what I've said all along. The fact there's beer there now isn't going to have people just rushing in because - hello - people can buy beer other places in America without having to pay $17 for an indoor soccer ticket. Ticket prices shouldn't be based on what it costs you to run the team. That's silly. Considering how much money they lost last year, you should be charging $50 a ticket. But you can't. Because ticket prices are set by what the seller believes the market will bear. It's not enough to say "Hey, it's expensive to do business here." The potential fans will say, "Well, good luck with that. This product isn't worth $17." Doesn't matter if I like it. I don't live anywhere near there and am unlikely to buy a ticket. But it won't take too long before you find out what potential fans think about it. Your lowest ticket price certainly is (except for Philadelphia, which I can't explain). I did Ticketmaster for Milwaukee and there were 10.50 tickets available for the one game I checked. I don't know if they have variable pricing or what. But even $12 is $30 lower than the Storm's entry-level ticket. And you....shouldn't. Trust me on this.
12+30=42, no Storm tickets are $42..highest I believe are $20, a 3 dollar swing. The mere fact you choose to focus on the lowest shows you can't look beyond being negative as now you can sit in front row for 5.00 less than last year. Why is this such a major issue for you anyhow as you don't even live here or come to our games, as you pointed out. Anyone who goes to the games knows typically they can sit wherever they want for the time being as the seats aren't filled. The lower bowl holds 3300, total stadium capacity for Storm games with entire place open is 6600....and I don't work in sports. This board has not painted such a pretty picture of the MISL fan base. That comment was not directed towards you rather skipper, but SO wonderful that you responded to it....Cheers.... *****yeah Chicago White Sox*****
Your data is wrong. Milwaukee individual prices are: Individual Ticket Prices $20---VIP Seating (yellow sections) $16---Preferred Seating (blue green sections) $14---Premier Seating (red sections) $12---Reserved Seating (blue sections) http://www.milwaukeewave.com/tickets/
Remind me again- why did the Storm raise the ticket prices? Is that a Krause move? Or is it that they have their reasons and we shouldn't comment? It is what it is- deal with it? Let's think about this... -They are operating with less than 1/2 the staff -They are practicing at a facility owned by one of the owners -The salary cap has gone down this year -The demand for the product has not gone up this year Where are the additional expenses warranting the increase? Just put it onto the fans? Doesn't anyone else feel exploited? I'm sure it has something to do with x employees, right?
With only 3,300 seats the Storm is going to lose an absolute fortune this year unless they sell out every game AND do at least $500,000 in corporate sponsorships. Good luck with that.
Okee dokee then. This is where I got that from. I couldn't find that data above for some reason. Point taken. But $12 to get in the door makes a hell of a lot more sense than $17.
1)they were overstaffed last year, that was a mistake by the storm 2)facility is owned by more than one owner, get your facts right before you comment 3)cap went down as amount of games went down 4) demand is yet to be seen.... as for x employes i don't get that comment..... Hope this helps with your questions
what difference does it make 3300 seats is 3300 seats regardless where they are sitting...up or down...still same amount of people....
Why does it matter? Because when you lower capacity you also lower attendance. Because their attendance numbers last year were rather inflated from what I hear. Because if they DON'T draw 3,300 EVERY game they are going to lose a million dollars.
you can't possibly think they are that DUMB, If the need arises, they will i am sure open the upper bowl....but then again, that raises the demand for seats, as someone here on these boards taught me...either way, It would be fantatic if they were drawing that many people....myself personally, i prefer for the stadium to look and be full with people all around me than dispirsed all over, to me makes for a better atmosphere...but JUST my humble opinion....
I still think the cheapest ticket is too much. If the Storm does get 3,300 a game, is that what they need to survive? I doubt it. How sad is it that this team can not fill the Pavilion. I went to a bunch of games last year and you would not have thought that there was anything going on. Only letting people in the lower part will not change that if people can not afford to come out. And how many free tickets were given out last year? Who was in charge of that fiasco?
No, they're not that dumb. Incredibly naive, maybe. This is the same team whose owner told the media they would average 8,000 a game last year. The same team that joined the league three months before the season and sold 50 season tickets.
Let's see , I got bashed because I was all positive about the storm , now it is my turn. There are people on here who are just being negative about everything! I say if the product bothers you so much , forget about it!
I agree with stormfan, don't come then... they are not that dumb, each and every owner, there are several NOT just Mitre and Viktor...are all very successful people...so they are not DUMB people....they had unrealistic goals set in front of them, by people who will not be named, none of them are people who own or ever worked for the Storm, gather your own thoughts as to where they came from.....regardless, can you possibly get beyond the ticket hike price, if not, again, Don't come.... Aleaguer, I ask again, why do you even care..you don't live here....complain about your own team...leave the Storm alone....
No kidding , at least we have a team in Chicago. I must isuue an apology for using the " ND " innitials when I made my point with Nino fan. That was never meant to finger anyone. As I explained , the innitials were not even a name.
