I suspect that most managers, especially those at the very start of their careers, will put everything they can on their CV. Ask Schmeichel to put his medals on the tabel, and you'll see League titles, FA Cups, CL's and internatinal medla go down long before his super cup medal. It's just not a major trophy when compared to every thing else, in my opinion.
The "supercup" is a meaningless waste of time. The Euro champ shouldn't even agree to play in it anymore. It wrongfully gives more credence to the E. League Champion, who did nothing more than come in 17th place in Europe the season prior. Hopefully it will be discontinued soon.
Spurs are currently enjoying their best League form for half a century... ...with 31 points won from the last 33 on offer. Only the "Double" winning side of 1960-61 had a better start to a season.
^^^ Absolutely Spurs are off to an amazing start. Game in hand and win that, and you are only 4 pts off of man city. It's early stages, but if you keep it up, you'll be in great shape. It's all about consistency as you'll need to show through out the entire campaign if come may you want to be 3rd or 4th. At the moment, the spurs team is really , really good. Quality throughout all the lines... Unless CFC splash out on 3-5 new players this january, I see them and liverpool finishing outside the top4. For me, its city, united, spurs and arsenal (in no particular order as of yet) who will occupy the top 4.
Well, Chelsea now has increased its trophy total by 2 (since this thread was made). How then can Spurs say they're a bigger club?
Uh Oh!! Did Chelsea just win the Champions League? I guess we are by ur standards considered equal again, not! When Spurs win a CL title then we can talk, until then I don't see any need in comparing the 2 teams. Both are very good clubs with plenty of history. I could care less about people talking about it taking Abramovich's money for Chelsea to have success. In any major sport it takes money to win. Baseball, the Yankees spend millions and millions every year and are in the playoffs every year, it takes money. I could say the same thing about American football, basketball, NASCAR, F1 and just about every sport. Have you ever seen a low budget team win an F1 title? No, and you never will, end of discussion.
Spurs are still the famous Team of England and there won't be suffering any loss of Fans, even if Chelsea wins more titles..
Liverpool WERE the most decorated club in England, until Man UTD abdicated us. In historical sense, yes we are more successful than Arsenal, but at the moment they are playing better football sadly. We better get our acts together.
Chelsea have 25k season ticket holders but NO waiting list to buy one. Spurs have 23.5k season ticket holders & a 43k waiting list to buy one. Chelsea have won everything in the last 5-10yrs, Spurs have 2 minor cups is 21 years. I think that tells you the true story of the real 'sizes' of the respective clubs.
