Let's hope they can get a team, i.e. one that plays together, out on the field.

This past scoreline was irrelevant. I'm not sure why people are harping on this. This was just to get the Cosmos name out there. We're not going to get results until we are a cohesive team....who gives a f*ck about exhibition scorelines?

Like I mentioned in the other thread I think it would be very smart of the Cosmos to book friendlies against MLS teams next year. Having the Cosmos play the LA Galaxy would definitely draw big crowds. It will also help familiarize the team with the league they're going to be playing in.

I think that would be a great idea. Yea the games would not sell out but it would get the kids some good practice for what is to come.

While they are at it, book a history of meetings with those teams too. You know, like twice a summer :).

I hope the Cosmos got all they wanted to out of that friendly, because they are coming home to even more eager fans when they left.

I doubt they will schedule friendlies against MLS teams. I definitely could be wrong, but I expect they'll line up more friendlies with high profile international clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as reported, as well as clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Celtic, etc. The Cosmos want to associate themselves as a peer to those types of club... they want to be the biggest brand in MLS when they get there. While it may seem contradictory to some, you might be better off losing to the elite brands 6-0 as long as you are playing them. Losing 2-1 to Sporting KC would damage the Cosmos mystique more than a 6-0 walloping in Old Trafford. Anyway, that's my read. I'm not taking a personal position on whether that's right or wrong.

i think they should get a team (Primarily U-23s) and Play in friendlies as well as competitions like the Emerates cup, or WFC, and get a spot in the U.S. open cup.

Who would want to play that team in tournaments like the Emirates Cup? Why would they get invited?

What's in it for those teams to invite the Cosmos and play against them? Red Bulls played in the Emirates cup simply because of Henry. If the Cosmos ever become a team then you can see some friendlies here but your thought of making a separate scrub team just to play in foreign tournaments is ridiculous.

The Red Bulls are an actual team in an actual league.

    Let them play.
I just want to see a more aggressive team than what I saw against Manchester.

Why? Who cares how aggressive or not they play? It makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Yeah Manchester United is Manchester United, the scoreline for the Cosmos isn't that far off from what any EPL team might get from Manchester.

Aggresive, offensive, progressive, whatever you want to call it. I felt they gave Manchester United too much respect and could have scored a goal or two if a few players had been willing to be gutsy.

It wasn't a real team nor a real game. Therefore it doesn't matter.

This is just so pathetically silly.

You do realize a good number of those players were retired and nowhere near match fit right? ... and that it was a testimonial game ... and the night was 99% about Paul Scholes and if the Cosmos were playing Bolton Wanderers almost none of them would have turned out?

Don't kid yourself into thinking that York, Butt and Neville care enough about the Cosmos that they are going to go charging around and damage themselves in what is basically a kick about to line Schole's pockets with a fat payday and give the fans and him a chance to say their goodbyes.

Arsenal probably doesn't want a 6 goal differential at Old Trafford either. Try to look on the brightside. haha
