Think AM have the advantage with our suspensions and lack of away goal. But still better result than I expected.
I mean, I'm not a torres fan but all this criticism is undeserving purely for the reason that that the whole team above the back four played horribly. Same goes for willian, gaf takes some of the blame her here.
Boring, but efficient. Congratulations with the draw, with Hazard back you should be capable of beating them. How bad is Cech's injury may I ask?
This is the way to look at it. We have to beat them by one. The didn't show much go forward. They got loads of possession and have nothing to show for it. We've seen what we can do at home. While an away goal would have been nice, it doesn't really change our strategy
I'd be surprised if he suites up for the rest of the season. I'd also wager JT is toast too, atleast for a couple weeks.
Nah, Torres was really poor. He gets it in his head sometimes that he's able to take on 3-4 defenders, sometimes even from a standing a position. Occasionally he draws a foul, but more often he just loses possession. It just kills any chance of a decent attack. Others didn't play well, but that doesn't excuse Torres' performance. He didn't have an easy job, but he still did it poorly.
Like I said during the thread, he had some decent bits of play but, in a game where we're hoping to break and score, he's NOT really what you want... particularly when paired with Willian and Ramires. The only thing I WOULD add is that... we're expected to keep the last two... not the first one.
I'm not a doctor, but from the sounds if it, likely. He came down on his elbow. That jarring could have done his shoulder in.
Beginning to see why Dave was getting so heated after Frank's handball... 458710648306671616 is not a valid tweet id
Before people get too fired up, this is what we had planned. You don't trot out that midfield and say to yourself we'll score two or more. We came hoping for 1-0 expecting 1-1 happy it's 0-0. Plus how this shook out means we have to play a forward starting XI next week. Van Ginkel may have to play.
Well luckily the little cvnt got his comeuppance as he'll miss the 2nd leg. But it amazes me how this shit goes "unnoticed" against us.
Well as @Naughtius Maximus said, rumors saying Cech had done in his shoulder meaning he'll miss the remainder of the season. Depending on the severity of JT's injury, we'll need Luiz at CB and Bane back to RB, unless you risk Bane at CB and keep Luiz in midfield as MVG is slotted to start now. Lamps and Mikel are out for the 2nd leg.
Like I said, it was not Obi Mikel in that fight with Gabi, we just lost another middlefield player because of some terrible vision skills the referee has.
Perfectly understandable though... Cesar 'Dave' Azpilicueta John Obi Mikel Like two peas in a pod, aren't they
I'm wary of AM's away goal potential next week at the Bridge (and the injuries). And the intervening weekend game.
Not that it excuses anything but Azpi came storming in there for no reason whatsoever which led to the Gabi throat incident. Anyway, I didn't really like that strategy but what do I know. They score a goal at the Bridge and we need two. We have no strikers. They have many threats. I feel if we tested their defense, we could've gotten something; especially with the way Schurrle never stops running. It drives defenders mad and forces mistakes. Shame for Cech. Schwarzer is a decent backup, but he's no Cech.
