Shocking game. Awful play by both team. Basics of football out the window.

We are still keeping Giggs and Scholes around because we are sentimental idiots, dont know why Wotton is so liked by SAF that he is given chances to even start he is not even on Shawcross level when he was here.

Missing wingers, probably an audition of why adding more 9s actually will solve nothing.

Cleverley is off, Scholes on but who need midfielders, we got all those lovely ones who can each last half a game if they really try.

Is Cleverley injured? Didn't see him limping or anything...

I can certainly see us going with a Carrick-Fletcher-Scholes MF against citeh.

You'd think some of these players would want to stake a claim for more games and maybe a first team game. Some of the give aways are beyond shocking for a top level club.

not watching the game (at work) but soccernet's avg position map clearly shows a 442 with rooney on the right, powell on the left, and welbeck and cheech down the middle. that's... surprising

You cant put people is some mis mash and hope their individuality will shine through (if we had any left by the way), that is why Lewandowski is such a terrible idea.

Wonderful spot and pass py Powell. Rooney should've done better.

Goal was deflected by Smalling. Nonetheless a good goal for them.

I'm not asking for them to have the game of their lives, I'm asking them to do the basics right.

not at all. that's fitting 3 strikers in the classic 442 instead of playing 3 roaming attackers in a 433 with the full backs providing width. i think the latter is what people would want.

433 would be a variation of a 442 with 3 strikers and two 9s on the field, 433 does not mean 3 strikers at all.
It would not be dis similar to what you are witnessing.

What about the old liabilities we carry season after season, should they not be earning their wages but they are guaranteed games, subs and starts for the season even if they keep costing us.

This is disgraceful performance. Most of the players are first teamers (not first 11) with international experience.
