Madrid is one of the favorites to win it, you'd have to be pretty delusional to think otherwise. Bayern wasn't even one of the top 20 teams in Europe in December before they went on and had a double and a CL final loss in 08/09.
09/10 08/09 Bayern was in Klini's hands... Probabilities for the draw (not 1/7 because teams from 2 countries cannot be voted together) Real Madrid 19,5%, AC Milan 15,5%, Arsenal London 14,2%, Celtic 13,2%, Donetsk, Istanbul je 12,6%, Porto 12,4% So it is about 1 to 5 that we get Real. And the chance to get one of Madrid, Milan or Arsenal is as high as to get one out of the other four.
Tomato tomatoh, you know which season I meant The point still stands, pretty ridiculous not to include Madrid as a potential team that can win it. Just reading their players' latest interviews should tell you that the only thing they are aiming for this season is the Champions League.
Let us not forget that Bayern-Real was tight last year and they had to go to penalty shoot outs to decide it, and if Ramos hadn't sent that penalty flying into space (pretty sure it is out there somewhere... Maybe FIFA could send a team to the moon to extract the ball) we might've been talking a whole new discussion about Madrid being the defending CL champions or mocking them for losing to Chelski in the final, whichever alternate universe floats ya boat, bra. We should not expect an easier time this year, they are one of the favorites and they are lethal, especially if they screw the league to make a last stand to save their season on the CL a la Chelski or, to a lesser extent, Bayern last season.
La Liga race was a tight then unlike this season which is already over. They have nothing to fight for this season besides that trophy (unless you count the Spanish cup). And last season they were penalty shoot-out away from making the final or winning. Last I checked making the semi-final, makes you one of the main contenders for the crown.
my point is.. Real, Barca, Man united, Bayern are always "favorite" to win the CL so mentioning that they are the favorite is just silly. However, Real have shown that this season are not playing a very good football and i am pretty sure that they have no chance in hell to compete in the CL this year .. their performance in la liga, the cup and the CL is not up to par and i am expecting them to get eliminated by next round no matter who they are playing against..
We'll see, few things in the CL are more enjoyable than watching those dbags get out of the competition.
Weirdly enough, though, I would think Ramos' disposition mentally would've been perfect for a penalty shootout. Egotistic and self-assured enough to think "I can do this... No problem" yet with enough skill and competency to carry out the job. Apparently not...
That "clown" is quite possibly one of the best right-backs in the world and is a very versatile player (can play in a lot of different roles, from center-back to winger effectively). It is my opinion that Ramos sometimes gets a bad rap and deserves to be seen as a very good player; he adds directness for Spain that it sorely needs, his role in Madrid is a lot like Howedes at Schalke, filling in a variety of areas and is one of the defensive leaders in Madrid. But, I rest my case, and we're getting sidetracked talking about Ramos.
it could have been worse and it could have been better this is somewhere in the middle. Arsenal's form now doesn't matter we will see both teams form in the beggining of February
If RM takes care of Man U and we handle our business along with the other German teams, we'll probably end up surpassing England in the UEFA coefficient rankings.
