Hi people: I'm trying to know the style (deep-lying forward, out-and-out, target man, etc.) of some centre-forwards before 1900. I've got some names, do you know more? Gilbert Oswald Smith John Henry Price John Goodall Fred Geary John Devey Jack Southworth
I got more names (please, tell me if I'm worng about one of them): Alex "Sandy" Young Charles Miller Olphie Stanfield
Bloomer played alongside John Goodall in both Derby County & NT in the 1890s. Bloomer as Inside Right and J.Goodall as CF. btw, it wasn't surpringsinly that IFs topped the topscorers list in the Pyramid era. Since most of them played a role similar to Puskas or young Pele. Meanwhile the Pyramid CFs played a similar role of Sindelar.
Puskas did play as inside left in PYRAMID formation (2 3 5) Pele never played in pyramid (but a modified one so called 4 2 2 2 or 4 2 4)
