He can't be the only German-American player on the team without a tat. And it needs to stand out when comparing himself to Jones, Johnson etc.

Good grief. That's pretty unprofessional. Dude, wait until you are out of season! Who has a job that would forgive "my new back tattoo is still healing up so I won't be in this week"? Who does this when a promotion is on the line on top of that? Only a very foolish person? Who else?

Sometimes all you can say is, "wow."

Clearly he believes he is going to busy at the World Cup this summer, so he needed to do it now.

Well, I like his optimism. But July 20th still seems like a better date.

Plenty of time to win the WC and then get nasty back stamp.

Probably didn't think it thru that far ahead; the hallmark of being a 21-y/o. You live, you learn.

most relieving feeling after this world cup build up. I think the emergency is over. It took lots of moving and trying things out, but I think we found the optimal and best functional pair in Cameron and Besler in the middle of the park. It isnt the stuff of USMNT nightmares any longer. If we lose Cameron or Besler however......

I agree that JK has found the current "best" pairing. However, it remains to be seen if it will work well against three strong opponents. It could be great, or could still be a nightmare; most likely something in between. That back line has very little experience together.

Yeah, very little experience part bothers me but too late for anything else. Also, I would be surprised if they make it through all 3 games without one getting a suspension for card accumulation.

Bad timing for Gonzo to get hurt. It definitely compromised his place, and with it went the seemingly good partnership he had created with Besler. Glad we had the 3 games for Cameron & Besler to build up an understanding, as well as getting Brooks some time, which could be important as I see him as the next CB in, since Gonzo is more than a bit off the pace. Still scary to contemplate what happens if/when either of starting CB's is unavailable.

Cameron and Besler are definitely our best bet!! But it will be up to fullbacks and protective midfielders: Beckermann, Jones, Bedoya to help them out because they aren't good enough to win too many 1 v 1's against the talent in our group.

Wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself with a few more offers this July

The nightmare is not over. There is still the possibility that we may need Cameron to help out the CMs since it looks like we may be playing with 3. If that happens, is JK going to go with Besler-Gonz or Brooks-Besler. Gonz hasn't looked good and Besler hasn't played the RCB.

its fragile, but acceptable currently. If our boys play smart, of course. But we clearly have shocking depth if anything is to happen to Besler or GCam. So happy we finally moved Cameron home to central defense, much to the emergence of Fabian Johnson out at right

The 23 selected did very little to reduce the shock.

I think Brooks is fine. I would be very worried if we're forced to play Gonzalez either thru card accumulation or injury.

If Brooks is in form (which he currently is) I'm fine too. He finally had his breakout performance versus Turkey and showed the talent we saw during the end of his season with Hertha Berlin.

I would unquestionably take Brooks ahead of Gonzalez by a sizable margin, but I will instantly be nervous again. he doesnt provide the relative security GCam and Besler do. Turkey was probably his best game in a US jersey though.
