So, its pretty evident we are going to have a January-esque lineup for the Mexico friendly. I was trying to project a lineup, but the question is who is going to play CDM for us? Our top CDM are in Europe and I assume we are not going to go super offensive in Mexico. I can't come up with 2 CDM's to play together. Beckerman anddddddd.......Kitchen? Throw Cameron in there?
Not at all. For some reason there are some major misconceptions about this match. It's a FIFA date, and I would be shocked if Klinsmann doesn't call in the best guys he can. Last year against Mexico on the August FIFA date, Klinsmann started the following XI: Howard; Cherundolo, Orozco, Bocanegra, Castillo; Beckerman, Jones; Donovan, Bradley, Torres; Buddle. I expect something similar, in both the defensive nature of the lineup and the top US players with a few wild cards thrown in. Some of the YAs will skip, but others won't. So concerning the DMs, I expect some mix of the same guys we have seen already.
Hmm. You dont think the Euro teams will have a problem releasing their players less than a week before the season starts (in England at least)? In that case, good.
Last year when we played Mexico in August we saw many of the European players like Cherundolo, Bocanegra, Bradley and Jones.
They will. For example, last year Chandler, Edu and Goodson withdrew due to "injuries" while other players like Dempsey weren't even called so we can assume Fulham registered their displeasure. But Klinsmann should be able to get 5-6 of them at least.
For some reason I though last years match was in July. Well, consider this thread a waste of space. Lol. Still, WHAT WOULD WE HAVE DONE?!?!?!?!
