Bullez up one on the Heat at the half.

Most of English football off this week due to snow storms and lack of snow removal equipment

Safely arrived in Tarrytown about an hour ago. Lesson learned - don't ever ever ever take the Turnpike all the way to the GWB on a Saturday night. Use the Garden State and the Tappen Zee instead.

You can probably guess that I really don't stress too much about gray hair, either on my head or in my beard. :)

Wish we wouldn't have played. Lost 0-2 at Leeds.

Unless I was going into the city, that's the only way I ever went -- Garden State/Tappan Zee/Cross-Westchester. The one exception was when I moved here from Cambridge -- I was towing my car behind a truck, and the truck restrictions on the bridge meant I had to cross at the GWB.

One hell of a 49th birthday weekend to remember for my favorite teams.

    D. McNabb (Redskins) shoved to the curb by Shanahan
    Perkins (DCU): Gone
    Fridge (Terps): Gone
    Gilbert (Wizards): Gone
    Caps: Lost their 8th straight
Wizards: Lose a heart breaker to the Heat

Or drive a bit longer and take the toll free 287 from Exit 10 on the Turnpike. Then the KY Thruway to the Tappan Zee. We had no traffic coming home yesterday even the toll plaza in Delaware.

Yesterday and today we have the whole mishpucka here. All three kinder and me and my bride. LBdottir has to run up to NYC on Monday through Wednesday. But my eldest and LB2 are here all week. She's telecommuting from here this week and he's off for semester break. I can't believe it but he's only got three semesters of college left!

We put up the tree last night.

Went to a Wolves/Leeds game there once. Tough place to play. There is one huge stand that gets really loud.

    I always think of this:

Some really good NFL games today with playoff implications on the line

Saints @ Ravens, Jaguars @ Colts, Eagles @ Giants, Falcons @ Seahawks, and Jets @ Steelers.

Hey Lastort, tHx for the Xmas card! We all got a good laugh out of the envelope :)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but right now several of the most important weather models consitently showing us getting socked with snow on Xmas day and the 26th. A few models showing a LOT of moisture, like maybe around 10-12 inches depending on how cold it is.

big action on my street today. water is bubbling up from the seam between the gutter and asphalt on the road. wssc sent a truck out and dude looked at it and drove off. its still flowing pretty fast into the storm drain. its also disturbingly brown

I have vague childhood memories of Tarrytown. My sister Pat went to college in Tarrytown, at a school that doesn't exist anymore; I went there for her graduation.

Probably brown just because it's coming up through dirt. If it's flowing pretty fast, it's coming from a pipe under significant pressure, so it's probably not sewer.

Hope they fix it soon, or it's gonna freeze on the pavement.

I guess this means I won't be coming back from MA to 60 degree temps like I did back in 2008. I fly back on the 27th, so storms on the 25th and 26th here likely mean travel disruptions / storms in New England on the 27th. Damn. Guess I better bring the laptop after all. For now it will be 30 and sunny where I'll be but it's worth monitoring nonetheless.
