Oh I'm with you on that. It's the Vela nuthuggers that always have to bring the Cheech into it.

Easy: left wing. 4-2-1-3? Gio on the right. Cheech in front. Two CDM's and a CM/CAM?

Or Vela on the right, Guadardo left. Gio as CAM. Cheech still up front. Maybe too much attack tho'.

Added a edit with him in it but TBH, even tho' he won't, I'd bench Guardado for Vela on left.

Its not a popular opinion but i wouldn't mind that either.....

Guardado hustles....he would be a ultra impact sub...

Out of the 4 european players, Guardado seems like the weak link to me, but Vela can play on the right as well.

The thing I like about Vela is that he's multi-dimensional , and on paper he should be able to link up with anyone. Unlike...Peralta and Cheech

At this moment not quite sure at this moment. He could play right behind Cheech and spread Gio right. Vela can be versatile though.

u wanna see guardado in the lineup? put him at LB. there should be no reason a gifted player like vela gets benched for guardado. my respect to guardado but he is not as versatile nor technically gifted as vela. a great hustler that compensates for his weaknesses, but i dont consider him in the same category as vela skill wise.

4-4-2 With Vela playing just behind Chicharo I think is the most efficient way to try him out first.... unless Chepo wants to play that lineup with Cepillo and Ch14 up top.... which Cepillo deserves to be honest. Should also come down to form. If Cepillo is scoring then he should probably play, and Vela coming on as a sub.... at least in the first game to see how we roll.

I don't think I've ever seen Guardado play as a LCM. He's a wide player but I would be curious to see how he would do playing closer to the center of the field...

I said this eons ago, any coach would have trouble getting the most out of Vela and Guardado on the field, I said this before Vela displayed more of his ability as a playmaker on either side of the field. But some of it still remains. One of Guardi's strengths (specially in CONCACRAP) is burning the RB down the line and sending a cross, Vela is better utilized by getting the ball from behind, un pase filtrado, al espacio, whatever, he makes great runs from some yards outside the box, but Guardado has (or had) an urge to drive down the line... In any case, I think what manuel posted or ninjew even would work best, ultimately their ability to run with the ball down the left side is an asset that overlaps, not necessarily a bad thing if they place them properly.

on another note, I added all the upcoming futbol events to my phone, was it too cocky to add "Mexico U20 vs?" three times for the quarter's, semi's and final? Or is Curacao going to leave us out?

Actually he has kind of played the LCM role with the NT in recent matches for part of the game we see Salcido / Nilo pushing up high on the wing & Guardado will move to a supporting role towards the center... but maybe it is just because it was Guyana & El Salvador and the team was camping out in front of goal.

I'm more excited about seeing Vela playing just behind Chicharo and Herrera in the midfield than I am anything else. I think Herrera is going to complement these two very well in the coming games.
