Vela will not be called up for the Jan. friendly because it is not a Fecha Fifa. But he will be called up for the first qualifier. Even Chepo knows there is no room for error there. I keep hearing there has been a lot of back channel communication between Vela and the Tri.

And with Barrera out and Gio struggling, Vela can come in and be the hero. He looks good, Chepo looks good, televisa and the Tri sponsors are happy.
