He seems pretty dangerous when he attacks. He just needs to be given the ball more.

He just caused the 2nd yellow on a Sevilla player.

The team looked a lot better after both Sevilla and Real Sociedad made their first subs.

Vela off... stream off. He had a good game. Got a standing O as he walked off the pitch.

Not Messi status but he has 17 goals in 37 league games this year

    Not bad.

Messi is Messi. 17 goals in 37 games is great, especially considering he's not yet (or we assume he is not yet) at "full form", which really we've never experienced, so it'll be interesting seeing how him, and Gio, progress throughout this season.

Anyone agree with me that this likely twists Chepo's hand and calls him up for the first friendly of the year?

tbh in my opinion I think he has something personal with vela and isn't going to call him. but maybe they squash the beef who knows.

If he doesn't call him up, media will be all over his ass (or should be). He's surely top 3 striker options we have right now, he would actually thrive in Chepo's system because he can play in any of the 4 attacking positions.

I think there may have been some beef but its hard to ignore Vela when Cheech has been playing well and still doesn't get minutes and Gio hasn't impressed yet on a team battling against relegation (not that I think Gio won't come good, he's Gio after all)...

At some point, he'll get called and will hopefully play well for the NT. Chepo will claim credit for calling him if he plays well and Vela will probably have to just grin and bear it but as long as the team benefits, I'm good with it.

when in form, Vela is one of our most dangerous players. no doubt chepo will hae to call him. what other forward besides cheech has more goals this yr?

None. He also creates more chances than Cheech or pretty much any of the NT players.
