This thread is dedicated to updates about, without a doubt, Bolivia's top goalkeeper. Currently playing for Cordoba F.C. in BBVA Liga Adelante. Rather than playing it safe and playing in his own continent, Arias has decided to build a reputation for himself as a solid and trustworthy keeper. Last season, he was declared the top keeper in the Israeli League playing for Maccabi Netanya FC. He is a player with good work habit and is dedicated to his role.

I think that he is still young for a keeper and has a chance at becoming the Bolivian national with most success internationally given the chance; might see him in La Liga if all goes well for him. I've seen his level elevate to becoming a penalty stopper as well.

If i am not mistaken, in his 5 games for Cordoba FC , "El Pulpo" Arias has only received one goal against (that was last Sunday in a win over Xerez 2-1) and his side is 1 point away from the #1 spot in La Liga A.

After returning from his NT call up. Arias lost his starting spot for Cordoba to Alberto Garcia. Before that.they were undefeated in 5 games. looks like his stay with La Verde caused problems for his situation in Spain.

The positive about this, The team has not won a game since. and has recently seen only ties and losses. It's safe to say the other keeper doesn't have the same calmness and security a keeper like Arias holds. Hopefully Arias can reclaim his starting spot soon.

Quinteros should think about the bigger picture. We don't stand any chance to qualify, so he should let Arias assert himself in Spain and get a chance to be seen by first division teams. He's definilety got the stuff, but he will never prove himself if he keeps getting called up to meaningless games.
These qualifiers should be used to instead get the few young players we have some international exposure, like Farias did with his team at one point. Just look at the results.

Who knows...they may do better than we think.

I hope Arias can get the starter position back in Cordoba before the summer recess. Cordoba is doing pretty well, hopefully they make it to La Liga so Arias can play there and improve even more, or if he does good perhaps he can get transfer to another team in La Liga.

Cordoba sucksss, are you serious? Arias to NT duty and then gets replaced? The Spanish are haters, no team had won with Arias on goal. not fair, tired of the mistreatment. He deserves to start, they are pulling him down.

yea it makes no sense. arias in his 1st five games he started by the way only received one gol and Cordoba had not lost in any of those matches.
Then he goes to the NT misses a couple of games, the spanish keeper takes over and cordoba receives 4-5 gols in in 2 matches.
and Arias comes back and is relegated to the bench!!!!???? makes no sense

that would be the only logical explanation.
Although i can't help but wonder that the coach is being a little racist, just because Arias happens to be Bolivian........

Don't have good internet access so i havent been following much about Arias at Cordoba.

Arias hasn't been a starter ever since he's gotten back from Bolivia. the Manager Paco Jemez has sat him on the bench and let Alberto Garcia play. While its probable he won't play any league games this weekend, he will get a shot to play Copa Del Rey vs. Real Betis. at least that's the rumor i've been reading around.

If he has a good game vs. Real Betis then maybe he will gain back his spot as starter. we have to take in mind Cordoba is doing quite well in league.

He for sure has to get bought by a bigger club in the first division.

Does anyone know how long he signed with Cordoba?

Wow... if thats the case, I am sure there are bigger squads looking to take a chance on him in the first division. He'd be a steal on a free transfer.

I hope so. Jemez seems like a dick, as Arias deserves way more playing time than he gives him. Even their own fans agree.

Am i the only one who believes that there is a conspiracy against Bolivians abroad.
They really don't seem to like us, as a matter of fact i think they hate on us.

Are you kidding?? They love us everywhere, that's the reason our players get great deals, good teams and even better treatment as professionals!:D

Do you think Arias, with his talent, would be where he is if he were argentinian or even paraguayan??

    lol yes it does.

IMO it has nothing to do wiht us being bolivian, but with the quality of plauyers we produce. We havent produced anything close to platini or etcheverry since then.

Doesn't help either our level of our NT, or our internal teams in the libertadores.

Defending was attrocious, maybe Arias could've come out quicker on the first goal, but the other three we due to poor defending. Even that last one, Arias should've gotten it out further, but there's no reason why the kick goes uncontested with the pass right to the player, maybe he should've stayed put and not run out so far, who knows. All we know is that a Bolivian player will be at fault for the complete loss.
