Canada showed their class. The game wasn't refereed that poorly, but Canada showed they have absolutely no class. It started with the Goalie faking an injury when he wasn't touched for 2 or 3 minutes, and then he is suddenly well enough to lay a hit into Adu going for a ball that probably was a foul. Next it was that Bonswu guy refusing to get off the field and then cursing out the referee after he got a deserved red card. They are classless.

Yes, it was embarrassing. But we just went through the motions, no sense of urgency, and Canada took full advantage. They fully deserved this win.

    Canada simply played better tonight.

Hopefully, this humiliating loss will light a fire under the U23's collective asses.

They had better come out swinging against El Salvador.

Canada obviously deserved to win on the night. I knew exactly what they would do before this game even started. Stay organized at the back and keep your shape then look to hit the US on a counter or set piece, and they did just that. So congrats to Canada on the night. You were screwed on that awful red card at the end.

The US team has no one but themselves to blame. What an absolutely gutless performance by everyone. Porter subbing out Corona was horrible as well. This backline showed what we all feared tonight. They thought they could walk through and win after beating a semi-pro side like Cuba. US had their asses thoroughly handed to them.

All brek shea does is run in a straight line, cross or backpass he never uses his right foot. His future is not at lm. I think we are starting to see why brek shea would be better served as a lb. He was even a little better as a rm. But lm, he just does not have it. I was hopeful but you can only hope so much.

    Right.

But Montreal can play at Vancouver and Boston to LA is like Hamilton to St. Catherines.

US law does not permit one group of immigrants to be favored over another.

LOL.. There is a difference in wanting to play and not being allowed to play, then not wanting to play at all.

I got to admit that Brek Shea is a little bit overhyped so far...

Ah, no. They were the better team. A fluke goal is still a goal they wanted it far far more. This is obvious to anyone who watched, take off the blinders.

Don't knock Sunil. His goal of making the team more diverse is certainly a step in the right direction

Sure... You just won one U-23 game where the US was without Josh Gatt, Juan Agudelo, Jozy Altidore, Timmy Chandler, Daniel Williams and Alfredo Morales. Who was Canada without that was eligible? Exactly...

Even if the CSA gets their act together you will never produce the level of talent the US can.

Who will never even suit up for Canada. Face it, Canada doesn't have a single player that could even be on the USA roster. They got a couple of fluke goals and were the team with the better fitness level. That is why they won. It had nothing to do with skill because we both know the USA has more skill even without 5 or 6 starters missing.

Brek sort of neutralized himself by constantly going wide

Breaking News: Klinsmann reports that he doesn't give a damn about the U-23's, mentioning, "I'm not high on the U-23's road to London".

Thats some hilarious condescension from a fan whose team has made a World Cup appearance, out of probably the weakest Confederation in the world, once... about thirty years ago.

The question now is, do you keep Hamid or rest/bench him for SJ?

Also yeah congrats to Canada and all that but this thread is not the place to discuss the CSA and the development of soccer in Canada.
