19 players signed (two waiting on paperwork). Baring trades, in less than 10 days the Revs will 6 more players via the Super and Supplimental drafts. Interesting note, only 3 players on the team are over 29 years old and 13 are 25 or less.

Good idea. At this point it's just Rowe and Polak. Fagundez's contract gets cap relief, but I don't think it's GA per se. I think Alston was our last GA player prior to this year, but he graduated after his rookie season.

How come he was with the GA's on that European tour? Was it just to fill out the roster?

btw, I'm not trying to turn this into a discussion. I'm genuinely interested. I can't seem to follow all of MLS roster rules.

This is my understanding. I'm a nerd about any number of things, but MLS contract minutiae is not one of them.

Part of GA is a designation ("GA Class of 2009") that a player probably keeps as long as he is in the league. The other part is the cap relief afforded teams that draft GA players.

The GA rules will "graduate" a player (for purposes of cap relief) based on the age, number of appearances or minutes a player has in a given season. Alston started most of 2009, and as a result was graduated after one year. Prior to that, Rob Valentino (!) and Ameche Igwe saw less minutes and the Revs got cap relief for for a second season (good thing, given their modest contributions). I think Valentino aged out of the cap relief state, less sure about Igwe - his contract may have just run out.
