No. Please do NOT add a forum for Tulsa Roughnecks FC based on input from OKC Energy fans. Thanks. -- RUF
Ruf I'm asking on behalf of all soccer fans in Oklahoma it's Tulsa's team but it will help the success of the Energy likewise The Energy's existence will enhance the success of the new Roughnecks. jmo
Once again, Mr. Knight, unless a majority who request this are from Tulsa, please do NOT add this as a subforum.
Well then... convince them to become Tulsa Roughnecks fans and post in bigsoccer. Otherwise... still no reason for a Tulsa Roughnecks subforum at this time.
It becomes my business when shIts from OKC run their piehole about how Brad Lund is going to magically bring the NASL to both OKC and Tulsa less than 4 months after signing on the dotted line for a PDL club... and how OKC was going to field teams for 2015 in USL, the NASL, the NPSL (Brad called it an "Academy team") and PDL (didn't Funk Jr promise there'd be one playing at McGuinness this spring?) Yeah, how's that going for you? I think my contributions to this thread turned out to be pretty insightful, truth be told. It also becomes my business when they talk about Taft Stadium like it's "the only place to play" when I lived down the street from said stadium for years, am an OCU alum, and wish OKC soccer grassroots success over the prospects of a civic pissing match between opposing OKC carnival barkers... also, the thread "Is NASL dead in the state of Oklahoma" should never have been moved into OKC's subforum. And finally: There shouldn't be a subforum for Tulsa Roughnecks FC if I end up the only one from Tulsa who posts in it. Simple really.
Or you could ignore it I'm still cheerfully ignoring the Energy, no thanks to the tongue bath the get from star struck media getting paid to pimp them. Self-Flattery is always the best Well, you're not exactly the best arbiter of what constitutes acceptable places to play. More, just your preferences. Not to mention, a lot has changed in OKC since you were a resident. Well, you won't have to worry about me trolling down there telling you where your stadium should be.
I believe you refer to yourself as "King of the Trolls." And seem to be trolling this thread as we speak. Considering I usually go back to Okie City to the OCU part of town as an alum at least a couple of times each year.... and spent a few days there as recently as last summer and am still a big fan of Ingrid's, it's a safe bet for me to characterize the dining options around Taft Stadium as "limited," especially compared to the area around Pribil/McGuinness or anything downtown. Taft has "new car smell," so will probably be just fine for the next year or two... Prodigal will point to USL success in Tulsa to emphasize the need for an OKC downtown soccer stadium... while Tulsa will point to their baseball specific stadium with lousy sitelines for soccer to emphasize the need for.... drumroll please... a Tulsa downtown soccer stadium (a few blocks south of the ballpark).
Since I am begrudgingly supporting the Roughnecks this year, I might as well begrudgingly support a subforum.
God, I HATE it when I have to agree with you on something! Taft only has that "new car smell", if you accept that the new car has no windshield, only one taillight, and can only turn right. NAd mind you, if it was MY team that was playing there this year I'd have to admit it was true. As it is, I can stand on the sidelines and throw stones ;-) My wife and I have been to two games so far (She's a Sounders fans and I'm a Timbers fan so we went when their 2 teams were playing, and rooted for them) and it KILLS us that we can't support the energy. But until someone other than the ass and his weasel partner own them, no can do. As a side note, my wife went to college with BFJ. She said he was a prick back then, too. She said it you were at a party, and found out that he was going to be there, you left because it just wasn't worth it.
FYI I count 22+ posts here but not many individual posters interested in a Roughnecks USL subforum. If you have fellow posters that would post in a Tulsa Roughnecks subforum, tell them to post their interest here. Thanks.
8 different posters on this thread... 9 counting the moderator. Compare to several other largely dormant subforums... rinse, repeat.
