Yeah, but we've seen very little of anything 442ish out of Klinsmann.

It's debatable with his use of Clint Dempsey whether it's a 4-4-2 or not, but certainly Slovenia was a 4-4-2.

It was a major problem against Canada.

Panama and Canada were the other matches where he played a flat 4-4-2.

Porter simply got out coached in that game. He should of mixed up the lineup and given some of the players a rest in that game.

Yeah, that was the one game that was definitely 442. As for Dempsey being the second striker... the way he's usually deployed him in the past in something vaguely like a 4411, Dempsey's played a lot more like a midfielder than a forward in my book, though we can debate whether that's by design or the way it's just worked out with Clint's tendencies in there. In recent days there have been a lot of dual 8 looks with a 6 behind them.

In any case, I'm just surprised to hear noises like they're practicing 442 in camp when lately he's mostly been playing 3 in the middle.

We still had Boyd. The defense was our achilles heel.

I was hoping for more as well. Not a whole lot of marketing going on down here.

You'd probably know better than me, but apparently the ticket prices were too high for a B team friendly too, which discouraged a lot of fans.

I've been reading that Dolo and Fabian Johnson are very unlikely to be healthy for Honduras. Do you guys think there's anyone on this squad who could replace them over Castillo or Chandler?

I think they start around $26 which is more than I pay for my cheap Dynamo tickets. I don't really know the going rate for the national team though? I am more having trouble finding the ability to go because my HS soccer team that I coach plays games every Tues./Friday night. That's the same for most high schools here in town and I believe in all of Texas.

That's cheaper than the qualifiers were. Usually the corners, end line are around $35-45

    Parkhurst

For national team games in California we usually pay in the 40-45 dollar range and above. I think 65 gets you midfield.

I like Parkhurst, but I'd be concerned about starting someone who hasn't played since December 9th.

    Whoops!

Then no, not in my opinion. Maybe Morrow, maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, but I don't think so. I would have said Beitashour had a chance, small, but there. Not now obviously.

Yeah, it wasn't even relevant to his point anyway, but you have a valid one.

    I just looked it up:

    upper deck endline=$26.
    upper deck corner, lower endline=$35.
    lower deck midfield = $65.
    field level seats= $250.

We're going to find out a whole lot about Porter here in the next year or two. Should be eye opening for lots of reasons. One of which is JK's ability to recognize talent and hire coaches. Maybe Porter was a case of bad luck and bad timing. Maybe he was found out to be a great recruiter and not much else. It's pretty easy to win when you have the best players. We see it every weekend all over Europe.

I can think of a horror game against Jamaica more recent than that as well.

We'd better have someone in mind over Chandler or we're going to have an issue.
