So it begins and picks up approximately two plus years later than last season. Some good laughs and situations as always. Great dialog again particularly the banter between Hank and Charlie.
I like when Hank is forced to hang with eccentric rich & famous people. A whole season of him and RZA working on a movie script takes me back to season 2 (I think) when he was hanging with and writing the bio about the music producer. Could be good. I'm glad the ex got re-married to the crazy guy and I hope Hank will finally be over her. Natalie Zea as the NYC flame? Good bet she re-appears and gets naked. Nice to see that Cappie from Greek found his path in life by banging Hank's robotic daughter.
I like how Drea DeMatteo will be on the show. Too bad Natalia Zea was only on the show for the 1st 5 mins.
Yeah it had hopes for being funny at the beginning with the squad car and then got weak as it progressed. High point being Charlie with the He-she hooker in the squad car. Karen's present husband nude and drunk was a plot device of the poorest order.
The season was way too crazy even for Californication. I mean shooting someone and taking a bullet for someone is now just part of a daily routine.
For me the point that really bothered me was having Hank agree to have a drink with his crazy ex-girlfriend. How she is even in the house bothers me. How convenient as a plot device. How after all of the crap Hank has been through he doesn't know enough to run out of that house is really annoying. Was it her intent to kill herself and Hank in some bizarre ritual suicide?
Overall, I enjoyed the season. And I don't even have your qualms with crazy-ass getting into the house or Hank having a drink with her. She has been sneaking into places all season and Hank never turns a drink down with a pretty girl. My issue is the drugged drink from an ex-flame is straight out of one of the season endings to Rescue Me.
The problem with this show is that it is not as well written as it use to be and this season sucked. The whole side story with that rapper RZA was stupid as him. Yeah I purposely misspelled his name.
