Goes to show that fans are still bringing in explosives to the stadiums. Cagliari will get a nice fine and ban.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]There were worrying scenes at the Stadio Sant’Elia when a homemade bomb thrown from the stands struck Cagliari midfielder Antonino D’Agostino.
[/FONT] [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]The final whistle had gone in Sardinia on the 1-1 draw with Catania and the squad was under the Curva Nord to throw their jerseys to the fans.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]At this point a firework or homemade bomb was thrown on to the field and appeared to either strike the player or explode nearby.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]D’Agostino collapsed to the ground and was taken into the locker room by the medical staff. He was brought to hospital for tests and diagnosed with an acoustic trauma.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]“After giving my shirt to the fans, I was about to take off my shorts as well when there was an incredible bang and a flash stunned my eyes,” explained the player.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]“I sat on the ground and was very dizzy, as I didn’t understand what was happening. I don’t know where it exploded and couldn’t see very well, then the medical staff came to help me and I managed to walk to the locker room.”

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]D’Agostino turned 29 earlier this month and has featured in all seven of Cagliari’s Serie A games this season.

Funny how they only had a section closed where we got a stadium ban for far less sever misbehavior.
