In the back of today's sports, Fox Soccer Channel says that it's no longer being carried by WOW, which is my cable provider. They also provide our internets and phone, but with FSC, I'm looking to move. Time Warner & Insight seem like good replacements...any feedback from what other are using?

I never heard anything good about WOW, and it seems to be imploding.

We have TW for cable and broadband and I'm reasonably happy with everything except the price. Unfortunately, it seems to be in line with everybody else.

    I'd check in to UVerse.

I've had 3 friends switch over in the last month and all three are thrilled with the price and channel selection, which pretty much blows the three local company (TW, WOW and InSight) out of the water.

    I'll be switching in Janurary.

My wife's grandmother just switched, and we're going to be using it as an evaluation period to see if we want to switch. We're pretty happy with DirecTV, but UVerse has some pretty cool features, and the ability to bundle with faster DSL, I might actually save a few bucks.

The big problem (for me), is that last I checked there is no DirectKick package. That and my wife insists on FitTV, which is the only channel from a higher tier (IIRC, you need U300 to get it) we'd even want, and I'm loath to spend that much extra money for one damn channel.

I'm facing something similar on U-verse with Fox Soccer Channel. It's on U-verse's U-300 package which didn't have anything that I wanted except FSC. I couldn't justify spending the extra $20/month just for FSC. I think Fid had a buddy who told AT&T that the lack of FSC on a lower level was disappointing, and AT&T gave him U-300 for free for twelve months.

I had forgotten FSC was on U300. So I guess it's two channels we want that we don't want to pay that premium for. Except I don't think I want FSC again - I'd never get anything done because I'd be too busy watching football.

Good tip about bitching. Every time I've tried to complain about DirectKick not being available as being the reason why I won't switch, they have no clue what it is I'm talking about.

WOW no longer going to carry FSC....WTH?

There is a full page advertisement from FSC on the back of the Columbus Dispatch Sports section that says that FSC will not be on WOW as of Jan 1st. It is in today's (12/21) paper.

    This sucks.

Have U-verse and have really liked it. GolTV is on the Sports Package that's $10/month along with a bunch of the Fox Sports channels (unfortunately not FSC). Setanta is available on U-verse as well.

I bet WOW would carry FSC if you'd make them a new logo.

This would be a lot simpler if ESPN will buy the rights to the Premiership and other Euro leagues.

On my last trip to Columbus I had one of those big-as-your-head burritos from La Bamba and the next morning there was definitely some more cable in Columbus.

Not really about the cable situation, but just out of curiosity...

How do people feel about GolTV vis a vis FSC? Personally, I prefer GolTV, as they carry La Liga and Central/South American Leagues. I'd rather watch those leagues than the Premiership/Serie A any day. Obviously, though, FSC has MLS games, while GolTV doesn't.

Plus GolTV has Ray Hudson. As long as you don't mind hearing very little about the actual match in question, he's an absolute riot.

AT&T looked cheaper than TW if you take the basic package. When you start trying to get all the channels from TW that you want on AT&T, and you have to buy the additional packages, the prices go up pretty quickly. The price ended up the same, or greater, for AT&T and TW.

I'm generally with you on this, except that FSC has Serie A (which I obviously watch), and the Argentinian matches. I think these fit better with the GolTV "theme" and perhaps it might be better if the Bundesliga moved from Gol to FSC, and these moved from FSC to Gol.

I only say this because I get GolTV though - I haven't always had it (I'm looking at you Time Warner), and then I was always glad those two leagues were on FSC.

After graduation I've never had any of the premium movie channels, so I came out OK in the switch. I "improved" my phone service, got faster Internet service, and cable for a little less per month than I was paying with Time Warner.

With U-verse I have some minor annoyances that affect some subscribers, but not, but overall I'm pleased. I wish FSC were on a cheaper package. One thing I really hope they have is the CBS March Madness package that I had with Time Warner, where you'd get all four CBS basketball feeds.

As AT&T is now a shell of its former self, with the strings being pulled by bastards in command SBC, I will never, ever buy another product from the company.

In the past, this was available OTA as well. CBS split up their digital tier 10.1 and made 4 channels. Also WOW and TW used to have separate channels like you mentioned, and I think DirecTV does that as well.

I used to have WOW and really liked it, but got away from cable to get more HD content so I switched to DirecTV and I love it. Not having ONN is a pain in the butt, so I'll be ordering DirectKick this year. WOW had infinitely better service than TW did and they could actually give a window for repairs or installs smaller than 4-8 hours...and they actually came on time. I still receive my internet through WOW, it is much more reliable on the TV side than Insight, which was the only other provider where I live (although I think TW is available now)

I found a difference of about $4 a month, which was not worth the hassle.

The cable in my area has been out since Monday morning, hopefully my DVR will save the stored recordings.
