2-0. We didn't play well at all but the reffing was just too obvious. Everyone needs 2 more finals for money reason. They are making half a million dollars per final.

Forgetting last nights results for a moment...
With the world cup coming up shortly, I see it as my duty to educate the Norwegian people about the greatness of Uruguay as a country and of Peñarol as a club. In that process I'm trying to find information about Alberto Spencer (Yeah, I know he was Ecuadorian). Easy enough to find the "basics", but I'm looking for the "proper" stories about the man.

I.e. I'm looking for more information like the "trivia" from the english wikipedia:

"Spencer was red carded for the only time in his career at a league match defending Peñarol. Three days later the team had to travel for a Copa Libertadores match, but Spencer didn't go, saying that he was too ashamed because of his expulsion."

"In one of the exhibition tours that Penarol did in Colombia, one of the Millionarios players, Flaco Nestor Rossi, launched a horror-tackle on Spencer that went unpunished. Soon afterward, one of Spencer's friends in Penarol, Jose Pepe Sasía, ran after him, grabbed his neck and said:The next time you hit the blackie i will kill you, because he is the one that feeds us"

Anyone know of any pages (in spanish) where I can find such stories about the "Cabeza Magica" and/or other great Carboneros?

    Go to redmanya.com/foro

Its the Peñarol official forum. Register, and then post in the Ex-Jugadores section, post in English, and they'll help you out. Once I see your post there, I'll tell them to help you

The referree Larrionda of the wednesday game received an email with death threats before the match from a naciomal fan. He should have gone to the police and quit from the match, but instead played it and didnt call 2 clear penalties in favor of Peñarol. (and 3 adding one in the last april derby).

1-0 today ,que paro transporte de ************ no pude ir.A ver qeu pasa el martes si estos giles lo ponen a las 16 van a calentar mas el ambiente.

Pacheco scored today. Four red cards. 2 per team. Ours affect us more than theirs though

    Aguirregaray to Inter Milan,
    Aguirre is probably gone.

Replacements will probably come from either El Polilla, Fosatti, or Markarian

It's too bad that Aguirre will most likely be leaving. But that's what happens, when you win. Other clubs with money come calling, such as the ones in Mexico. Speaking of Mexico, I believe Orteman is on his way out to play for Queretaro.

Is anyone even staying with the club?? When will this team learn that rented players get you absolutely no where in the long run..
    Sosa out in six months
    Aguirregaray out
    Alcoba out
    Rodriguez out
    Orteman out
Arevalo most likely out (after WC)
    Urreta out
    Gaston Ramirez out
    Martinuccio?
    and Aguirre out

What's left? What can we even expect? Markarian is too expensive, Fossatti is taking over Ecuador, and El Polilla is going to back to the desert... They're going to throw Favaro or some crap coach and pass him off as the right move..

Yeah, it sucks. A couple of corrections to that list. Rodriguez will probably stay. Arevalo might stay as they might extend his loan if we don't buy his rights. Urreta might stay for 6 more months. Gaston is not 100% out. Martinuccio, I think he will stay.

But yeah, I get the point. We cannot be a feeder club if we want to compete at the top.

Keoseian is the new coach. Carlos Bueno, Marcelo Zalayeta and Fabian Estoyanoff are training with us. Johnatan Ramis has comeback too, Aguirregaray is not playing for reserve his transfer (maybe Inter) and Egidio Arevalo Rios transfer has been completed from Monterrey before his loan finish.

hey everyone. i'm an english fan who unfortunately doesn't speak any spanish! recently i cam across the club of Peñarol and as your team shares the original colours of my club in england (bristol rovers used to play in black and yellow, and that is our away kit this season) i was hoping to buy a Peñarol shirt from 2010 as i think it looks fantastic!

unfortunately, i can find nowhere who sells it, not even the official website. does anyone have any ideas where i might be able to find an authentic Peñarol kit?
