I don't think it was a matter of them thinking they're "unbeatable", rather than their unwillingness to fight as hard as Frankfurt did yesterday.

I thought they looked like they were expecting something to happen for them and it just didn't.

    One from the e-mail list.

Some think this one is true.

If it is, you can bet this is Dede's last season in Dortmund.

Behrang Safari will leave Basel for Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer, if reports from Switzerland are to be believed.

According to Sport.ch, Dortmund have made an agreement with the 25-year old Safari, who will come to Germany on a free transfer in the summer of 2011. The versatile left back, who can also play in midfield, will be given a three-year contract.

As I have recently posted to the e-mail list, "kicker" has linked Safari with a move to Werder Bremen.

I wouldn't blame Safari for choosing Bremen.

He would have a far better chance to start there.

With us, he would just be a backup for Schmelzer.

I think we'd be better off asking Wolfsburg for Fabian Johnson.

Fabian Johnson is still young (23), can play the ball with both feet, can back up at both outside defender positions, can also backup as an offensive midfielder and has been a Germany youth international at every level from U17 through U21.

I also believe Johnson is the type of kid who can benefit from playing under Klopp and would fit into our squad very well.

Plus, as I remember, Johnson was pretty tight with the Bender brothers at 1860.

As Johnson's contract expires after next season, I think they'd let Johnson go for as little as 1.5M.

Or maybe even a player swap involving either Hajnal or Feulner.

I really think this is the route BVB should go to get a backup for Schmelzer.

It would also give us more flexibility in the Julian Koch situation........

Of course, I'd love to see all your thoughts.

However, I really want to see what "smithfan" thinks of this "suggestion." :D

Not the biggest fan of Johnson tbh although I agree that he might benefit from playing under Klopp. I like his versatility and dynamic but he never completely impressed me during his time at 1860. Don't want Safari either. I'd suggest looking for a cheap, talented defender in the "new market" regions. The German market seems to be rather empty in regards to a LB.

    Thanks.

You confirmed my thoughts of him when he left 1860 for Wolfsburg.

One of my 1860 fan buddies really overrated him back then.

I told the guy that Johnson needed to join a club where he would be afforded the time, opportunity and TRAINING to develop.

He isn't getting that with Wolfsburg. I think he can get that with us.

Of course, I mean clearly as a backup to Schmelzer.

I thought Johnson should have stayed with 1860.

As far as I know, he wanted to, but 1860 needed the money.

I just feel if there's any team who can bring Johnson along now, it is us.

And I NEVER thought I'd ever say that.........

    Always an option of course.

As stated above, I just think if there's anyone who can bring Johnson along, it is us.

I still think that kid has the potential to do something in the Bundesliga.

Not to be a star, but to be a solid player for a good club.

Moritz Leitner has been further loaned from 1860 to FC Augsburg for the rest of the season.

If he plays at Augsburg, this is good news for us.

Plus, since Augsburg is almost certain to be in the promotion battle, this is further good news for us.

Oh really? Then you need to grow up man.

If Weidenfeller moves, I'll wish him well on his new adventure in life.

It is easy for fans to sit and compare where the clubs are sporting-wise.

Roman Weidenfeller is at the age where an athlete needs to start thinking about financial security for the rest of his life.

If Villa or any other club makes Weidenfeller a financial offer he can't refuse, I won't blame him for leaving.

It is up to BVB to make him the offer he wants to stay.

LOYALTY works both ways. It isn't just up to Weidenfeller to show loyalty in this situation.

To blame someone for taking a better financial deal seems very childish to me.

Somewhere down the line, the game ends and these guys still have the rest of their lives to deal with.

They need to make as much as they can while they can.

Could this move also be to get Loew's attention?

Do BVB already have a young or old back up goalie that would take over or would they be looking elsewhere to replace him if he left?

am inclined to think they have someone in mind to replace him not langerak which is why they arent "pushing" it or so it seems for him to sign .. it seems the choice is being left up to weide

tho in all sense hes give near 9 years of service and has stayed loyal thru all that should he leave for a payday .. i wouldnt be pissed at him . the man has done more than enough for us .. as apposed to someone who might join bvb stay a year play well and leave for a villa and money etc theres a difference

    No way man.

This is about securing his future.

The Goal article quotes Weidenfeller as saying:

This is why it was so easy for me to see that some people probably didn't bother reading the article.

I think Weidenfeller stays if the club commits to him as long as he's committed to the club.

For you others who don't get it, I will repeat something I said before.

    LOYALTY WORKS BOTH WAYS!!

It is time for BVB to step up. Roman Weidenfeller could have left long before this.

Mayb i was too quick to make judgement, but for sporting reasons (high chance of playing in CL) and love for BVB, i was expecting him to stay.

As for the financial difference, well as an outsider i do not know how much the difference is. Most prob quite big since he is even considering a move to a relegation threatened team. i always thou tt most players would play for sporting reasons and love for club rather than for big money moves. i guess i was just being naive

He probably will. But most of us make decisions in life on how it will benefit us the most.

I'll put it this way. I love the place I work now. I love the place I'm going back to more.

If someone made me a considerably better salary offer to go to a place that might not CURRENTLY be as advanced as the place I work now or the place I'm going back to, I'd still have to consider that offer.

It isn't always about who is better sporting-wise AT THE MOMENT.

Two years ago, had a good, young player decided for us over VfL Wolfsburg, people would have called that player crazy.

    Look at things now.

    Yes, you were.
