We win big cups these days. We don't care about the small ones anymore

Even if we weren't winning, this thing doesn't matter to me.

Dortmund: Götze Has Mostly Overcome His Eye Inflammation

Good News: Götze Back In Training

Dortmund’s coach Jürgen Klopp could be happy about the return of Mario Götze to training today. The German international was out with eye inflammation, but was able to complete both training sessions the Double-Winners had today. However, whether Götze will be ready to face FC Bayern in Sunday’s German SuperCup match at Munich is still open.

Götze speculated his eye infection could have happened on vacation when driving with open windows. The eye closed a bit more every day and because such infections are contagious, Götze did individual training.

Klopp said of Götze’s return: “Mario’s eye seems to be about 80%. About the same as after a night of drinking. Only then, it isn’t better the day after.”

Missing practice on Wednesday were team captain Sebastian Kehl and German international Ilkay Gündogan. Kehl had some minor irritation in his right knee. Gündogan had to seek a doctor’s care for pain in one of his ears.

I don't think BVB will throw 100% into this. It is still just practice.

That's what made me crack up about Schaaf saying the "Liga Total Cup result proves Werder is back."

We started six players who are backups and amateurs, spotted them two goals and it still had to go to penalties! LOL!!

For those here in the USA, GolTV has the Super Cup on Sunday.

This is also at the Injury Thread.......

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sven Bender is going to miss about four weeks as he is scheduled to undergo hernia surgery on Monday.

Bender will miss Sunday's Super Cup match and the start of the Bundesliga season.

Sebastian Kehl will also miss the Super Cup match with toe inflammation.

Bender and Kehl missing means Leitner and Gündogan vs Munich. That will probably be too offensive, but we don't have another choice.

Hummels and Subotic to clean-up after the mid-field...;)

Not good. One of the reasons they usually look so good is that they don't usually have to clean-up after the midfield.......

Just rumors, but people are speculating that DirecTV will start only carrying the Spanish language version of GolTV and the new Bein Sport USA will take its place on channel 630.

Great game guys.... It seemed like it was just going to be another friendly match but both teams fought and battled like it was a CL final. Great to see both teams are still hungry to beat each other.

Both teams still seem so even, I thinks it's going to be a close tough battle as last year..

    Good for german football? ;)

Um...are you serious? In the first half, Toni Kroos actually looked FAST. And he usually never looks fast against us. I haven't seen our team playing that slowly and uninspired in an "official game" for a while. First half was awful, 2nd half was okay. But to be honest, I didn't care too much. You could see it early on that some of our players didn't take that game seriously, so I didn't do it either. What matters is Oberneuland and Werder Bremen.
Feel bad for Leitner though (although I expected this), he certainly couldn't impress the coach today.

Either that, or we should be really worried. The only one in a Dortmund shirt who showed the same passion as always was...

    Jürgen Klopp.

Yeah. That's exactly what's being said.

I was saying it the entire time. Ask "jocamryn."

We didn't take this match seriously last season either.

He always does. He's the guy who'll work his team to death and then expect them to go out and beat a Bayern team intent on "restoring its pride" in a match that doesn't count.

If we do this on the 24th, then I'll be worried.

And I don't know how much I'll worry then because we started slowly last season too.

Oh well. As I don't understand Spanish, I'd rather have two buffoons I can understand a little than someone I can't understand at all.
