i even think you can overtake City as well...its gonna be a nice matches there...but if you play to your limit you can get the 2nd spot...im really curious how Dortmunt will deal with Real and City

The problem is we don't know how we will fare because of the extreme inexperience vis-a-vis the players from the other teams.

I wouldn't say City are potentially beatable either.

They have trouble against organized possession teams, not against open counter sides, like Dortmund. It might become a matter of outscoring the opponent or if Klopp is interested figuring out a tactical alternative.

    These matches will be spectacles.

These matches will require BvB to focus quite a bit on their defence. Last year this cost them in the CL and this year so far they have looked shakey at the back.

Now im probably going to get hate for this as well but this brings up another point to add to what i thought about another striker at BvB apart from Lewa...

    DM

I think BvB will also have to look at how to solidify a quality pure DM which they have in Sven but he is injured. Kehl does not cut it at CL level (growing old as well now) and they don't seem to have anyone else that is good or exceptional DM. There is an abundance of talent in the offensive midfield department but not really any in DM.

Might not be needed in the BL but for the CL they need to have someone there!

5,6-0 ?????? U have no faith in ur team at all....
BVB with better international and european experience should fare batter than last year. Im not saying they will get out of this group, but I believe they will or at least should push for a second round spot.

Also Ajax is no joke for you guys, you have to play good smart football to get 4-6 points from them, and then if u can manage 4-6 points from your 4 games against Real and Man city....you have a good chance of getting out of the group.

See if Schalke would swap groups with you.......hahaha

    I believe in you guys!!

I really think you can be 2nd spot. Mancity are over hyped douche team and Ajax is beatable in Europe. They haven't done well in a long time in CL..

I know you can do it, I know it!!

    Come on bvb!

    German group hug everyone!

Do you watch this team at all? The whole reason they are successful is because of their pressing/attacking style of play. That is also a big part of the reason the defense looks so good. It is your "parking the bus" that would result in a 5-0 loss.

But it's also the attacking that can open Dortmund up for a 5-0 loss....

Tough break. BvB have a great chance to make a good account of themselves here.

I hope that you all go deep n either comp.

BUT guys you are all forgetting the spielmacher! The 12th Man! It is all about the Cauldron and unlike MANY stadiums & fans this is something that can't always be replicated. The Westfalen is one hell of a stadium for anyone to come to especially foreigners!

Tough draw, but not impossible. Klopp is a fast learner.

Hell, City were only able to beat a 2nd string Bayern team 2-0 in Manchester. Dortmund would have smashed that same Bayern team at the Westfalen.

To get through you're going to have to beat Ajax and one of Madrid or City at the Westfalenstadion.

2 draws away or a victory in Amsterdam should be enough to seal at least a Europa League spot. I don't see Ajax getting more than 8 points.

But then again, like FF1 said, nobody expected anything out of Olympiacos either.

Samsung lost 1 billion for stealing copyrighted tech. ESPN might want to get something out of you also.

And it works better with TBow. :p

Anyways, fellow Dortmundians here's to another dead last in the group finish.

I honestly believe that other BL fans will be pleasantly surprised.

And somehow I'm pretty sure that Chris09's sentiment is not solely his. Getting 3 in a row I would bet is a higher priority.

I wouldn't be so sure about that either.

The funny thing is that that other team from ruhr might actually go further in the competition that matters. :p

It won't matter, especially if they go home empty handed...they can make it to the final for all I care. If they don't win it; point is moot, isn't it?

I mean, Bayern also made it farther than Dortmund in the CL last season too...how'd that work out for ya?

About €60 million points of argument.

Everyone knows they blew it. Thing is that it was not expected....unlike other competitors. : D. : p

It would give them added revenue.

    Pretty good I'd say.

"A total of €754.1m was distributed to clubs participating in the UEFA Champions League last season. The two teams which competed in the final in Munich, Chelsea FC and FC Bayern München, received the highest amounts.

... Bayern earned a total of €41.730m: €26.9m in participation, match and performance payments, and €14.830m from the TV market pool."

You are missing the point completely. Like i'd much rather go furthen in the CL than win the BL and have money to 'blow' in the Javi's of the world.

And again, it is NOT a guarantee you will win the bundesliga again. I can make the argument that both Schalke and us can finish ahead of BVB.
