He did pretty well other than one big mistake that lead to the goal. He looks comfortable at Bundesliga level. Hojbjerg looks like he should be playing 1. BL every weekend.
Yeah there is little hope of Bayern II getting promoted without Hojbjerg. He might as well play with them if he's going to be played as a winger for the first team anyways.
Just fyi, the current second and third placed teams Illertissen and Augsburg didn't apply for a 3. Bundesliga license so it's only between Bayern and 1860 for that playoff spot.
Good to know, why wouldn't a team apply for it? I remember Göttingen 05 a long time ago couldn't get into the 3rd division because they couldn't afford the license or something like that
This could be either a good or bad thing as Duncan stated. This could Bayern psychologically. This could also do away with something I'd imagine quite a few people are noticing now, as in Bayern playing with some really irritating arrogance, in a manner that they shouldn't be trying 100% in matches. I don't mind this vs scrub Bundesliga teams but when I see this vs Arsenal and Manchester United in the Champions League, it gets on my nerves.
We lost 1-0 to Basel 2 years ago in the 1st leg. We proceeded to smash them 7-0 in the return leg. Similar result incoming.
Your arrogant posts while fun when we are smashing everyone, are annoying when we run in a bit of a poor form
Yes. One playoff round between the 5 4th division Champions and one runners up. The DFB requires a stadium capacity of 10k, floodlighting and a number of safety measures. Many clubs simply cannot afford that.
Pep Guardiola: “No complaints. We lost because the opponents were a little bit better than us. We saw how good Augsburg are in the DFB Cup. We fought hard and tried different approaches. That’s football, that’s sport. You can’t always win. A defeat was on the cards sooner or later. We accept that and we need to prepare as soon as possible for the game against Manchester United. We didn’t lose because of the younger players. Hojbjerg and Weiser were the best players on the pitch. They’ve trained with us a lot, they know how we play and also know what I want. Hats off to the three of them. We’re in a final on Wednesday. It’s a matter of life and death.” Manuel Neuer: “We took Augsburg seriously. But the main thing for us was that nobody got injured today. That’s the crucial point. It’s all about Wednesday and the match against Manchester United. Nothing else matters.” fcb.de
Is there a chance for the playoff game we just send over some of our 1st team players to guarantee the promotion or do we keep it fair?
I'm sure their agents would have an aneurysm if a first team player risked injury by playing for the second team.
Nope you can't do that. I don't know the exact number, but after completing x amount of games with the senior side they are ineligible for the playoff games.
3 matches without a win? To all those who aren't worried about the 2nd leg on Wed, our form is Scheisse and it will be a battle. Not looking forward to it at all. What a time for Bayern to play lethargically.
First half he was ok, second half you start to wonder why a player of his caliber is outplaying players like Schweini, Kroos, Muller & Goetze. What a stud. Can't wait to see more of him. He should be loaned next season, he needs to be playing every weekend in the Bundesliga as you said.
I think his level of play in the match depended directly on his position. He looked great in the middle where he belongs. Playing him as a winger is like playing Schweinsteiger as a winger. Not the best idea.
