Freiburg is going to bunker in this game, and Kroos is underrated defensively. I think we will be fine. If we are up by 2 goals at 60 minutes, you can be sure that Tymo will come in to shut up shop.

Very true. He's improved majorly in the defensive aspect of the game and also covers more ground these days. He ran more than everyone else in the last match, some 10km or so.

what? I rate Gomez very highly most than many on this board i was just saying that his movement outside the box is worse than Mandzukic. Even Klopp said against Real that its easier for BVB to defend when the striker stays more in the centre(Higuain). I was just saying that we should try Mandukic against BVB this time.

Have you seen Mandzukic play in the last weeks ?? He struggled against way weaker opposition, and you want him to Play against BvB ??

People around here is overestimating the croat by a bunch ... He's a good backup, nothing more

Yeah I think Mandzukic could work vs BVB. I wouldn't be against it, as long as the Mez starts vs BATE. If Mandz doesn't work for the first 45/60 minutes, we can use Gomez as a super sub.

I think either of them could work, but Gomez is a better finisher and we will need to be clinical with the few chances that we end up getting against BVB. I'm really happy that Mandzukic is providing some real competition for Gomez, because he seems to have fixed his confidence issue. It can only push Gomez to get even better.

Ribery should have passed that. But what a counter! and Gomez seemed to have gained some speed!

It's the opposite. Gomez is one of the fastest forwards out there and he hasn't reached his full speed yet after what I've seen during that counter..

Will we finally be able to win against a 10 man opposition ???

PS: Meier is ours in this game, a questionable PK and an even more questionable red card...

Good to have the referee on our side for a change ...

I disagree, Gomez couldn't get any further or he'd been offside. Ribéry had the space ahead of the Freiburg defender, Gomez was unmarked but the Frenchman chose not to pass this time.

The PK was fine, Ribéry wanted to chip over the attacking defender and the Freiburg player has his arm wide in the air blocking Ribéry chip. That's a penalty kick.

The redcard was even more clear. The replay clearly shows how Shaqiri has been held on the jersey for 1 second while he was being 1:1 against the GK...

Gomez didn't lack speed on that counter is what I disagree with. Ain't that obvious?

Might look like he's "on our side" but it's just that Florian Meyer is by far the best referee in the BL.
