German paper TZ had an article about Robben being out for the for this game and looking to be back for BVB Dortmund. I think with the management team in place this year, they won't allow the team to take this game easy and only be thinking about Saturday. Failing to take care of business tomorrow is not an option right now especially after what went down today in the league.

I really wish I was still in Munich this week!

I would bench Piggy for this game no question. Have him rested and no risk of suspension for the BVB game. Give Shaq, Gomez, and Tymo a run out. Maybe even Raff.
Our B team should be able to beat Freiburg.

Other teams thought they could win aswell...

I thought about resting some mains here, but knowing our situation now we can take this chance to seal this by Christmas break..

Then we can rest all month long ;)

It will be risky to play Schweinsteiger in this one.

On the one hand it sends a message to the team to take this game seriously, which is good. Freiburg are no joke.

On the other hand if Schweinsteiger is suspended against Dortmund it would be a big blow. Freiburg haven't lost in 5 matches and it will be tough playing at their place, so it is easily possible that Schweini will get a yellow.

have schweini sub in. Anyone think that Freiburg draws a yellow out of Schweini knowing who we play on Sat?

I totally agree with you till there. Tymo and Martinez is too static a midfield, just like Tymo and Gustavo. As for Freiburg, they are on an unbeaten streak and are quite formidable at home. We've had problems there in previous seasons as well. They've just gotten better under Streich.

Shaq as AM, Kroos as CM is my preference. But Heynckes seems to be willing to risk playing Schweini. Now that BVB dropped points against Fortuna, it'd make some sense. Full strength, we have a better chance of beating Freiburg than Dortmund; not because we can't beat BVB, but because we've had a poor run against them and it still is like a mental block.

This legitimately irritates me. Starting two defensive midfielders does not work. Simple. It has been tried a few times and looked horrible every single match. Either Kroos or Schweinsteiger need to be played there.

Golden opportunity in the game to really distance Bayern from the rest.

with Gomez starting this i expect him to start against BVB and be completly closed down by Hummels and Subotic like always. It easier for BVB to defend against us when our striker just stands upfront without much movement

Excited to see Shaqiri start this one! Kinda worried about the defensive aspect of our CM pairing though.

Yes, that's what Gomez does... he just stands around in the box waiting for the ball to drop at his feet. Seriously some of the hyperbole spewed about this player is getting ridiculous.
