That's the correct backdrop and history, thanks camicia. It's warming to my hardened heart to know that I am rubbing off on people.

We do have our Athenry Brigade of the Texian Army and in year one quit a few Irish born Houstonians joined up. Irish Neil and Anne have been Texians since the first months.

That statement is oxymoric in nature, seeing how the TA was run out after a G.Davis radio program in 2007for singing and being roudy.. I think the only time we went there for Glenn.
Personally, it looked like a Bennigans with pool tables!! Not too impressed.
But whatever floats some peoples' boats and gives them an opp to watch the Dynamo, then I guess, all is well..

That was Firken and Pheonix, not The Bull and Bear.

I'm going down to Houston this weekend to visit some friends. I understand everybody hates FCD, but I am interested in watching the FCD-Chivas game on Direct Kick somewhere. Are there any pubs that have Direct Kick and would put on that game (7pm Sunday night)? Thanks. Im staying near the Galleria.

JR's Bar & Grill - The Official bar for FCD watch parties in Houston
808 Pacific St., Houston, Texas; Tel. 713.521.2519

JR's Bar and Grill, the anchorman of the Houston gay bar scene, is always packed with a stylish fraternity of youngish gay men from Dallas and their hetero-female hanger-ons reveling in the spacious, cruise-friendly atmosphere. Anyone will tell you that JR's is the place to be for FCD matches, for the amateur strip show and karaoke nights, respectively. The amateur strip night at JR's has established itself as a Houston gay bar institution with an always acerbic host perpetually ready with a comeback that hilariously cuts to the bone and the Thursday karaoke is probably Houston's biggest belt 'em out gay party.

    Ignore jmalbright.

Check with Richmond Arms, they're about 2 miles from the Galleria.

The Mezz has Direct Kick and it's about 5 miles from the Galleria.

Can't think of any other places at the moment.

Are you sending a FCD supporter to the Mezz???

Are you getting enough O-2 these days Kat?

Send him to Furkin and Phoenix or the like.

If that game was on Saturday Night as well it could be a very "interesting" atmosphere. :D

LOL!!! I grew up in Houston (Bellaire actually) - yeah JR's, Rich's....funny stuff. Richmond Arms is great, staying right near there. They show MLS? I will try Mezz too. Thanks everybody.

Completely off-topic but anybody been to Treasure's recently? I know they got busted several months ago.

I'm not sure of the Richmond Arms would show any MLS games, don't know. but you could try it's sister Pub the Stag's Head Pub. it's where Glenn Davis will be doing his show for the next ten weeks or so. Here's the site for the pub:

    http://www.stagsheadpub.com/

I've sent them an e-mail asking them but I think they will.

    Momentary lapse. It happens.

I'd suggest he try other places first, obviously.

DO NOT GO TO THE MEZZANINE. I'm telling you right now, just don't...it won't be good for you. (That came out as a threat...didn't mean to make it as one, I'm just saying that you probably don't want to watch the game there). I wouldn't go to the Inferno's Official Bar if I were looking to watch a Dynamo game in Frisco. That would be idiotic....even if the Inferno weren't there at the time (and there actually might be a few TA members there to watch the Sunday games anyway which is even more reason to not go the Mezz).

I'm 95% sure that Richmond Arms won't have it. They are a big EPL bar but I don't think I've ever even heard of them having Direct Kick. Still though, might be worth a call to check because it is right in the Galleria area. Bull and Bear more than likely has Direct Kick since they show all Dynamo away games although Bull and Bear isn't that close to where you will be staying (maybe 15-20 minute drive). Call to make sure but they aren't quite as "Dynamo only" as the Mezzanine is as they show SPL, EPL, CL, etc.

I can't think of anywhere else. If I think of one, I'll post it here, but for now, if I was you, I'd go to Richmond Arms and hope they have DK. If not, Bull and Bear.
