it will be interesting to see which issues, if any, are going to be modified.
I heard that one of the issues will be the group system. If I only had to pick between the 3 group or the previous 4 group system, I prefer the previous group system.
Take it for what you will, but Ernesto Lopez Mota says they'll also resign with SUM, and that a group will try to bring up Aaron Padilla at the end of the meeting.

it would be nice to have a Cup tournament
the new point system is idiotic
In for later
Would you say that 3 points for a win is idiotic?
conventional wisdom was to draw on the road and win at home. That mentality is/was widespread amongst many sports.
When the Football league decided to test it out back in the early 80s, it eventually caught on else where in the world. It took Mexico nearly 15 years before they adopted the 3 point system. Now that seems like the norm and studies have shown that it has improved.
You are the manager..... you are defending a 1-0 lead with 30-40 minutes of game time, something that has become the norm.....
if that rule was in place, would you still protect a one goal lead with that much time?
Something doesn't add up. For realz this time.
Some might argue that goals don't equal quality of play, or that promoting offense in this way will hurt the long run development of defenders for the national team, but count me intrigued. Yes for 0-0 --> 0 points, curious about the 2-2 --> 2 points.
you are right, goals don't equal quality. Some years back, Toluca and Chivas played a brilliant 0-0 playoff match... the tempo was very entertaining, lots of missed opportunities... it was a fun game to watch....
but holding on to a 1 goal lead with 30-50 minutes left in the game will atleast have managers reconsider if they want to concede possesion because by doing so, the opponent's chances of scoring increase.... is defending a 1 goal lead for 50 minutes only to get scored on in the 87th minute worth it? and worse... by a fluke goal or penalty?
Hmmm interesting changes.. this the first league to try this?
The silly no points for a 0-0 is not gonna be allowed by FIFA, it's almost retarded this is football 0-0s happen don't like it watch shitty American sports. I think its nothing but a smoke screen they probably want to get rid of the u-20 league and are trying to keep it under wraps using this silly shit like they did with the 20/11 rule they got rid of quietly while people were talking about the new liguilla system that never happened.
y los shootouts apa?

Then both teams can conspire to each let in a goal to start the game off.
I don't think they will get rid of the U-20 league.... they just started a u-13 league.... right now... they have the u-20, u-17, u-15, and u13 leagues.....
On goals don't equal quality, I expect others to make that argument (also the 0-0 entertaining game is probably the exception rather than the rule), which is why I'd rather focus on coaching incentives to see if there are any unintended consequences (according to studies by some pinche economistas, beside the logical outcome of going for a win with the switch to 3 pts, another outcome was protecting the win once you had it).
I quickly sketched out 0-0, 0-1, 1-0, ... , 2-3 scenarios at the 60th minute. Of the 9 scenarios, the ones worth mentioning are:
Min 60, 0-0
Current result worth less, incentive to score a goal
Min 60, 1-1
Current result, 1-2, and 2-1 results worth same as in past, but minor incentive to score as 2-2 tie better than current 1-1 tie
Min 60, 1-0
Current, 1-1, and 2-0 results worth same as in past, very minor incentive to score for those inclined to protect a lead, as eventual 2-1 lead is better than 1-0 lead (facing risk of tie, 2-2 better than 1-1)
and the counterintuitive
Min 60, 2-2
Current result worth more, no change for 2-3 or 3-2 (and 3-3 worth same as 2-2), possible stronger incentive to protect tie?
There could also be others that I haven't thought of. If the main counterintuitive result doesn't occur until the game is already 2-2, I think they've accomplished the goal of higher scoring. Yes, you also have the risk of both teams scoring early goals, making it 1-1 "not on purpose", but this is a risk I am willing to take to explore the possibility of more entertaining games. After all, the league always has the recourse to punish suspicious activity.
I was thinking about the 2-2 scenario last night and also thought that it could backfire as it would be worth more in the new format, than in the previous....even perhaps giving the manager an incentive to protect the lead... but I don't see that with the other markers....
however, if it gets managers to reconsider their strategies and actually force them to play (notice I didn't say attack), I think that would be beneficial for the fan.
the book, Soccernomics basically said that the ball in is play for roughly 60 minutes of the 90 and that at the professional level, goals usually come in the last 10 minutes of the half....
something to think about if goals do occur more often in the last minutes of each half.... because conceding possession to your opponent for long periods of time.... you run the risk of committing more fouls, more bookings, and getting scored on. Set plays also are a bigger factor because of the current mentality....
what about rumors of expanding?
lol tecos live?
what they should look into implementing is having a certain criteria for coaches before they are hired, like a necessary winning percentage, or, after being fired needing to take a job as an assistant first or winning abroad. i dont know, seems far fetched but something should be done to prevent the same boring ass, losing mentality coaches who bring absolutely nothing new from coaching 5-10 teams of the league without shame. this would do more for results imo than some stupid mls-esque point change
On tecos save rumors, their only hope right now is for Qro. to somehow not pay what they had to pay, and lose points or direct category. Otherwise Tecos will likely have to play Ascenso next year, as there doesn't look to be an immediate plan to expand to 20.
i hear Gallos have some financial problems. so it wouldn't surprise me if Leaño & Co. remain in top flight. though both should go down if Gallos don't get their shit together.

Mientras tanto en el Salón de la inJustic... eh, en la Junta de directivos:
PD: My first meme :$
In perspective...What if good teams like Monterrey and Tigres tie 0-0 in a really good game....both get zero points.
Basura like Tecos and Chivas(lol) goes 2-2....they pull away 2 points and jump positions on the table.
Considering the quality of futbol.....how is that okay that the horrible teams had the productive jornada?
if productivity is the key term than both tecos and chivas scored 2 goals hence being productive.
They already stated that they would NOT expand to 20 teams, they will keep it at 18.
