'We all know why the Brisbane Roar's streak isn't being acknowledged to the degree that should be expected, but no-one really wants to say it...'

The opposition towards football in Australia is shining through once again, albeit in a more subtle way. If it were an AFL or NRL side on this magical unbeaten streak it would be plastered on the back and front of every major newspaper. However the perceived 'double chance' involved in an undefeated streak in football is holding the Roar's achievement's back from being properly acknowledged.

    Unfortunatly this is it.

A-League doesn't have the same cultural presence as the AFL or NRL.

The Roar do deserve more credit and more crowds like tonights but this record is in some ways meaningless due to the different nature of the games.

The lack of football awareness gives me the shits. One of my colleagues has the gnarliest pony tail. What nick name would you come up with. None other than Baggio the diving pony tail himself. But my colleagues don't know thing A about football and without popular appeal a nick name doomed to failure.

Is there a facetious emoticon? There should be.

After four losses on the trot, the wheels have truly fallen off. ;)

unfortunately we live in a cultural backwater, where caveman sports such as AFL and others are held in the highest esteem, and this is the price we have to pay for living in such a beautiful country.

they have managed to hold back soccer using every tactic in the book for a long long time.

in canada were not even a threat so were just ignored.

You're all talking about football (soccer) being rejected while other sports are praised, but why is this?

I've been reading a lot of news paper articles and comments made by Australians about football (soccer) and I am simply astonished, I never knew there was so much hate for our sport.
