    Breathe, people. Just breathe.

    John Wolyneic started at forward.

Kevin Hartman gave up a goal.

Steve Ralston and Chris Albright played.

It's Haiti with our "C" team.

The only way anybody should be screaming is if they forked out $20 for this game.

    Stop.

    Breathe.

    Return to your lives.

Bull. C Team? I don't understand this C Team crap.

Bocanegra, Pope, Beasley, Donovan, Sanneh. Five A Teamers. There are 11 men on the field. Armas is an A teamer like it or not, I didn't include him because he is crap so really we had six of our 11 "A" team.

We were missing Mathis, Reyna, McBride, and O'Brien. All of whom are rather fragile. If what we saw today was our C Team we had better get used to playing with a C team.

As far as Kevin Hartman giving up a goal well I didn't see it so I don't know if maybe he should have stopped it but all of our goal keepers give up goals.

The fact of the matter is we could only manage a draw with Haiti. We scored a goal after packing their box with most of our team in the dying seconds... forgive me if I am not impressed.

Games like this Landon Donovan should step up and take over. He was supposed to be the best player on that field today. Hell, he is supposed to be the best player in North America right now.

Why isn't Donovan producing in games like this?

My patience for Arena and his system is wearing very very thin.

    Correct, it's Haiti.

The C team excuse doesn't cut it really.

that was not our C team!. That was one of the worst efforts I've seen by the nats. They made Haiti look good, like they were the better team. The nats were completely unable to posess the ball. I didn't see Armas compete one forward pass. Our MFs couldn't beat one defender running full speed at the, the has been a problem in previous games, unable to complete passes.

Why do we continue to play 4-4-2, expecting our outside back to add to the attack. They are not international caliaber. We have decent Center backs, so lets just play 3-5-2. With Armas, what ever RB, and Carlos or Gibbs at LB, we start 5 players who contribute little offensivly. I like having attacking full backs, we just don't have any.

we're not in the soccer mood, simple is that, summer is our time obviously......, so if we wanna win games, they should be played during summer time.

    WTF?!!?

I know this was not our top flight side, but c'mon! Nothing less than a win against Haiti should be acceptable. The US should have buried this team, but give Haiti credit, they outplayed the US tonight. The US did not desrve that injury time goal.

Some things of note: Donovan, Beasley and Convey need to play in Europe. They have become very ordinary players now and need the competition in Europe to get their edge back. They had better play better against Po;and to prepare for Grenada or Guyana. If they play like this against either of those sides, we'll all be hoping that 2010 will be awarded to the US.

It's not the full backs. It's not the guys up front. IT IS THE SAME OLD PROBLEM. No one other than JOB or Claudio who can control the ball, hold it, and make passes. It's that simple. Why Martino (is he hurt?) isn't given a shot is beyond me. Convey in the middle? Please. It's the middle. The middle. It is always the middle. Everything looks worse because of this. It's the middle. The middle. The middle.
    Get it?
Haiti C team excuse is lame. If they won because they got one or two chances & we couldn't score...maybe.
OUTPLAYED US. LAME. Start off quick in qualifying Bruce. You need to.
Oh yeah. THE MIDDLE. NO CENTER MID FIELDERS. THE MIDDLE. It's the middle. Say it over and over and it all makes sense. No skill there, no way to use our quick slashers properly. No way for the backs to move up properly. THE FREAKIN MIDDLE!

    Oh yeah. Armas sucks.

Unfortunately, I did order the match and watched the disaster. I have never seen the US play worse. Could not string any amount of passing together. Donovan was invisible, defense was weak, and Wolyneic must have peaked in practice - he has a long way to go. Although this game is meaningless, it proved that our best 11 need to be on the field during WC qualifying no matter who we play. I wonder if US Soccer would give me a rebate for having to watch this tonight?

Does all of the panic over this mean we've arrived as a true soccer nation?

Must have been all the spring break action that detracted from their game.

    Indeed.

It was a scrimmage. A friendly. A practice. A meaningless 90 minutes. A "let's see who can maybe make the bench for qualifiers" game.

I'm not gonna lose sleep over what happened. But I have the feeling that half of you nutjobs will.

it's been the middle for a long time now. of course, you're going to get ripped for daring to suggest that Convey is something less than perfect. the fact that you're probably right won't deter them.

I'm with all who say its only a friendly, lighten up. But if the sky isn't falling with a tie to Haiti, we also aren't going to win the WC if we beat or tie a major soccer nation in a friendly. Either they all mean nothing or they all mean something, no picking which games you want to count. As for me, it meant something, not much, but something. It meant that maybe we need to take the early rounds of WWC very serious, we can't sleep walk through those.

Here's what concerns me--last year we played better teams with worse players and won: Venezuela, 2-0; Wales, 2-0; Jamaica 2-1 (at the Office); Canada 4-0. These were also "meaningless friendlies", and were played mostly in the off-season. Yet compare the results we've had this season--Denmark (C-team) 1-1, Haiti 1-1. Instead of beating inferior teams and crushing far inferior teams, we're tying them. This looks to me like a move backward--not the direction we want to be going with WCQ around the corner.

Very true, I doubt that many on these boards have ever seen Haiti play. I remember seeing a game of their a few years. I cannot remember who they played, but it was a "better". Haiti lost, but I was very impressed with their midfield ball movement and individual skills. They just ran out of ideas when attacking. I do not envy the team that will have that home-away elimination game with them.
