    That dinner scene was great.

I could actually feel how Jesse felt because being at my brothers house is sometimes like that the way his girlfriend and him fight.

I was half expecting Skyler to start flirting with Jessie.

That would have been horrible to watch, considering how she despised him. It would have been the ultimate show of contempt. Yikes.

Wife and I finally caught up tonight after starting the series a couple of months ago.

First two seasons were spectacular. There are plausibility issues after that, including in tonight's episode. No way Mike would use a lawyer who might talk - simple attorney/client privilege would have obviated the DEA's attempts to turn him.

The "Say my name." part had me cringing. I can only imagine how this is going to end.

Probably with an M-60 machine gun.

Mike was my favorite character the last two seasons. It's got to be all about Walt and Hank now, because Walt vs. Skyler bores the shit out of me and Jesse's too much of a pushover.

Jesse will still have a role, he has to.
So we have one more episode left in this 1/2 season and 8 more in the next one, right?

I like the way Skyler has been reacting to Walt. Getting up in the middle of dinner and walking away while he was talking was great to watch. I never cared much for her character but this season she's been brilliant.

Mike and Hank have been my favourites on this show and I'm going to miss Mike.

I sure hope they get back to Jesse as a central character. Much of this season he's been reduced to a whiny little side character.

No way in hell the new guys let Walt slide with his "say my name" bit. Walt's actions of late can only be explained by a brain tumour.

Is the mid-season finale tomorrow, or next Sunday?

    Yep.

I wonder if we'll get another tease of the future Walt tonight, as we did in the first episode in this half-season. I hope we do; but I predict we won't actually see the M-60 used until the series finale one year from now.

My prediction for tonight is that we see Walt taking the decision to flee Albuquerque. Perhaps he'll run to Phoenix to take shelter among Declan's organization.

Wow, they shoved a lot into the mid-season finale. It's pretty hard for me to speculate much of anything when I can't even imagine how Walt could make such a clean break from the biz without any consequences.

I wasnt a big fan of the finale. I was expecting something big to happen but it just seemed to make a point that a lot of time passed by and that Walt finally decided to break free. The whole thing with Hank reading that little passage and finally making a conclusion wasnt very convincing. I think we've always known that this show would come down to Hank finding out about Walt (much like Deb finding out about Dexter) but that is a really cheap way to do it. They really should have made two full 13 episode seasons than shorten them to two 8 episode seasons.

Wasn't convincing? Are you for real? Vince just threw us a huge curveball. Despite taking down drug kingpins, numerous setbacks, dozens of murders, and a ton of close calls, Hank finally gets his huge break. The last 8 episodes all come down to a showdown between the guy who could never quite put the last piece of the puzzle together, and the guy who was under his nose the entire time.

Seems silly for Walt to keep that book at home.

It does seem silly but I'm not at all bothered that it wasn't plausable or anything. I've seen enough brilliant criminals get tripped up by stupid mistakes.

Okay, maybe I missed something. What was the significance of the book? I just thought it was the same quote and it lead him to put it together. Was the book the other chemist?

Walt remembered to ditch the Lily of the Valley, but he put the inscribed book from a guy he had killed in his shitter reading pile? Even though he knew that Hank knew about the guy and W.W.

That is absurd, much like Mike in the previous episode telling the attorney where he was. Lazy writing. Lazy. L. A. Z. Y.

Nah. More like lazy mistakes that we humans tend to make.

These are not examples of lazy mistakes by the characters. They are both examples of brazen idiocy running counter to character - in back to back episodes no less.

But if what you mean is that they are lazy mistakes by the writers, then we agree.
