    Strong.

Good to see Juninho Pernambuco with another chance.

My only beef is with Belletti. He hasn't convinced me that he is selecao material, even with the lack of quality right backs right now. I'd rather see Ze Maria of Perugia get another shot (he's been playing very well for the past two seasons), even Vagner of Celta back to the position he played at Vasco. The selecao needs to get to Cafus successor asap.

Surprises to me: Adriano, Belleti, Flavio Conceicao, and definitely Ze Roberto. I think his time has past.

He is naming 3 more players (domestic) some-time early next month. I expect to see Kaka and... has Ricardinho left?

I would have dropped a few of the UEFA playing members to see some of the other players in the CBF but such is life.

What about Robinho and/or Diego (of Santos)?

Or is that just wishful dreaming?

the big suprise is adriano and juan. Leverkursen is in bad form right now. i was thinking he didn't have a chance to make it. adriano, i never thought he would have made it. why on earth guys he didn't pick ewerthon and eber? Ewerthon is playing quite well now... emerson is back(it's a shame. ihope he stays in the bench) my only joy is that juninho is back... ( i hope he starts). now regarding the three domestic players, my guess would be kaka, marcos(that's for sure) and "god romario" :) :)

Welcome to the fine world of international football, where sometimes, for certain teams, it isn't always about preparation for the next tournament, but about fulfilling your end of the bargain to the organizers. And I'd be willing to bet that at least one of those promises included bringing the CBF's top players. Of course Ro, Ro, Ro and Ri are there. How many people in China would care about seeing Amoroso or Belletti?

I am not speaking as a fan of Arsenal, I am speaking as a fan of the chinese national team. They going to get killed, Brazil can send their F team and they'll beat China by more than three goals. I know the Chinese fans wants to see the Brazilian stars, I just hope they won't play a lot. Maybe the new coach will test out the new players.

Yeah, didn't we beat them 40x0 in the World Cup?

I don't think it's a bad game for China. It's a bad game for Brazil only because of the travel time. Even though it's an international day I'd rather see them in Europe. That would mean one extra day of training with the coach.

    Re: Re: 19 for China

I don't think the translation came across as you would have liked, but considering that the players listed are generally amongst the top three on their clubs in Europe - and were World Cup winners, I think the question should be reversed.

How do Europeans in Europe see that their idols are all Brazilians? ;)

Honestly I don't think that it is really dead. Brazil can still play attractive, exciting football. But the problem is, well, just like this friendly. It isn't really in the best interest of the many UEFA based players to travel half-way around the world for a friendly against China. No offense to China, but the CBF would have been better suited with a friendly in UEFA if they were going to select such a high concentration of foreign based players. These players will be thrown together for this match and I doubt you'll see a great deal of consistency as the players will have to learn each-other - since they won't have a lot of time to train together.

It reminds me of when France scheduled a friendly in Australia in the middle of the club season.

So taht I do understand. It's just clear that it's not really about the competition - it's a pure exhibition, or event.

As for the players, I don't know. The players are going where the best money is, and it is probably too hard to say "no" to loads more money and (in general) better financially stable clubs and leagues. I can't really blame them for wanting to go to a European club.

Adriano may be dropped from the Selecao due to injury - in Parma's clash over the weekend. Incidentally, he did score after 11 minutes.

It is to a certain degree since the Brazillian youth don't get to see their heros develope or play at home, but Brazil's loss is Europes gain.

"Jogo bonito" can never die it's inherent in the players you can stifle it or mould it but you can't kill it.

    Here is the Full selection:

Goalkeepers - Dida (AC Milan), Julio Cesar (Flamengo)
Defenders - Cafu (AS Roma), Belletti (Villareal, Spain), Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid, Spain), Junior (Parma, Italy), Edmilson (Olympique Lyon, France), Roque Junior (AC Milan), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany), Luisao (Cruzeiro)
Midfielders - Emerson (AS Roma, Italy), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal, England), Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich, Germany), Flavio Conceicao (Real Madrid, Spain), Juninho Pernambucano (Olympique Lyon), Kleberson (Atletico Paranaense)
Forwards - Adriano (Parma, Italy), Amoroso (Borussia Dortmund, Germany), Denilson (Betis, Spain), Rivaldo (AC Milan), Ronaldinho (Paris St Germain, France), Ronaldo (Real Madrid, Spain)

Kleberson and Luisao are the domestics along with keeper Julio Cesar after Marcos was dropped due to poor form/club form. How the mighty have fallen.

Strong side. Not very experimental. I wonder if Parreira will try to be consistent with his selections and field as strong sides as possible for qualification, whereas with Leao and Luxemburgo had a revolving door of mediocre players.
