You're 100% correct. He knows what he's supposed to do but he can't make his body do it anymore. I think he would make an excellent coach/mentor for some of the younger players on the side but I don't want him in the midfield anymore.

    This message is for Tevez:

Stick that lousy pacifier (or whatever you English call it) that you got out of the front of your shorts after that gift of a goal and stick it in your back end.

    My rant is over...

Your problem is that he made 11 saves in a game? Just because a defender gets a block doesn't mean he wouldn't of stopped it however it shouldn't count against him that his defense did their job for freaking once. A goalie shouldn't have to face 10 shots in a game let alone 21. It's sheer lunacy.

Shay Given is and will always be a great goalie. However, I'm unaware as to if you've seen him play over the years. He never was able to stop every single 1 on 1 he was put up against. Not many goalies can stop half as when they are put 1 on 1 their defense has failed them, and Shay is no different especially with one of the most consistently poor defenses in the league. However, he has made his mark on the league making incredible saves and keeping NUFC is games they didn't even deserve to be in. To comment on his form after a game like this is not only inappropriate it's just factually wrong. Ask any goalkeeping coach, professional whatever you like where Given was at fault for all 6 of those goals, and if they overall feel he had a poor game. I doubt they will find one or say he had a poor game. The goalie isn't the only player responsible for keeping the ball out of the net. This isn't hockey.

To be honest he could have been MOTM which is scary considering 6 goals were scored on us.

I'm not saying he isn't good anymore.

I'm saying that since his injury last year, he didn't put the displays we were used to. I don't blame him for his apparent loss of form, I blame Harewood for that.

Or you can give another reason on why Harper was played this season, when Shay was available.

That's irrelevant to the current string of starts he's had including Man U, Chelsea, and Stoke. He was still on his way back earlier in the year but he's more than proven he's at 100%.

    Read all the conversation.

I didn't say he's playing like shit. I'm saying he isn't pulling out the displays he used to.

He's still a great goalkeeper, but on my view point, he was amazing in the past seasons.

Well he played pretty well on saturday and you still have one of the top keepers in england , Get the 4 muppets infront of him sorted out though and you'll really reap the rewards.

Apparently you weren't watching Steven Taylor.
