We shouldn't be doing the long balls, though. There were options around in close quarters; we just need patience.

Fair enough with sturridge, but tell me a midfielder that's on the bench to replace stevie

Gonna have to disagree there, If there's a chance to stretch a team don't mess about. Get them running and disrupt their shape.

You know, Henderson looks completely negated by Gerrard as he simply won'rt/can't make any decisions by himself.

I don't care who they sub, but the idea of playing everyone the 90 beyond Kelly, who won't play Tuesday is a mistake.

Not when we're so attackingly set-up as a turnover, inevitably results in more v fewer.

Alberto and Sterling on for Coutinho and Moses. 6 minutes to go.

He hasn't been brilliant today, but cissokho hasn't had too bad a match if you ask me. Especially in a match where we've been on the back foot for some periods. Henderson on the other hand, bit of an off day.

All in all a decent scrimmage. But this team will need to play much better on Tuesday

Well, the first half was terrifying. Hopefully BR has learned over the past 2 games that the 4-2-4 would see us get slaughtered vs Everton.

Sh!t match but we won. Impressed with Bournemouth throughout. Its players didn't resort to kicking ours out of the match but stuck to some absolutely brilliant build-up play and good pressurising football. It was only let down by poor finishing.

    Pitman-- that dive, wow!

FWIW Everton will probably field a strong squad at Stevenage now too.

SaS exhibition. 7 doesn't need to score. More than a few players going through the motions today.

Need to step it up Tuesday. All 3 points crucial.

Really hard to keep my interest in this one. Especially seeing that the team wasn't showing a lot of interest either.
Just a carry on from the Villa match in the first half with Coutinho, Hendho, Moses and co continually "Giving" the ball away and setting up Bournemouth's attacks. Help from Suarez with that as well. All that did was put the backs under constant needless pressure into giving away corners, lots of them.

Did I see Sturridge come on in the 15th minute?

Moses does like to run in straight lines, trying to go through or over the defenders, all the time ignoring his own players busting a gut getting into position for the pass that never comes.

We played a lot, well maybe a bit, better in the second and finally ran Bournemouth out

Bournemouth played some nice direct attacking football today and perhaps deserved a bit of a reward but a combination of our defense last ditch stops and them trying to overcook their shots sending them high and wide did them in.

Happy that BR played a strong team we'd have been the laughing stock of the media had we played the kids..and lost. The comms wanted that from before the kick off. Then I turned off the sound.

BR's idea was to have switched out after we'd got our 4 first half goals, didn't work that way though.

I'm happy that we ended largely unscathed. I'm much more concerned at just often we gave the ball away today, especially under pressure and how much space we concede to the opposition. I don't think we have time to work on that on the field of play-- the next three days will more be about recovery-- but I hope Rodgers highlights it in team meeting.

Does watching and commentate on the match your team is playing cloud one's judgement? I ask because most non-Liverpool acquaintances of mine, all to a man, are claiming we strolled to a victory without even getting out of second gear

They're right in one sense: we didn't get out of second gear. Wouldn't call it a stroll, though.

    Search Daily Motion for it.

Was not happy with the all the talent needed to beat Bournemouth but the win is all that mattered. Guess we'll see on Tuesday how gassed the team is.
