Do we ever win? It's sad to see a team that could've been good if the association was atleast a tad bit decent. Same goes for football.

We definitely win against teams lik Macedonia, but never against medium/top ranked teams. Maybe if we're lucky like we were against Italy, once in a while. Like you said, the talent that's been taken away has been a big amount, and we're suffering dramatically from it. It's dissapointing, because we could be a team like a Pot 2/3 team with tose talents. And when we lose, which is often, we never get money since don't do much in any Eurobaskets. This makes big talents go away, and it also makes our youth programs suck as bad as they do now. Anyways, did you know we only qualified for Eurobasket 2011 because of an expansion? Otherwise, we most likely would've lost out in a battle for one last spot...

We qualified for EuroBasket because of an expansion of teams? That's a sign that we'll do the same for Euro 2016 when it expands to 24 teams.

We still had a slim chance before the expansion, but it was really slim. A small amount of teams (like 6-8) would be divided into groups and basically play out another (shorter) qualification. But instead, there was an expasnion and we were "good" enough to get in because of it. The reason for the expansion was most likely because of Latvia and other countries that're friends wth Lithuania, Eurobasket hosts, didn't get in, so they wanted a shorter (more sure) route of qualifying. So we can thank those countries for getting us in...

Bosnia's team is never gonna progress with those international rules governing players. Slovenia already stole a bunch of players from us, Turkey too.

KSBIH calls Ermin Jazvin, Hodzic left the NT - Aug 18, 2011 (by Nedzad Kladusak)

It seems that EC in Lithuania will be an agony experience for the BIH NT. Sabit Hadzic made some very strange decisions that lead to a massive disorder within the team.
It is hard to explain how Kikanovic after one year of absence from professional basketball gets a spot in the starting five leaving aside Ratko Varda who played in EL during the season. It can t be explained that a Milan Milosevic who didn t play basketball since October gets an invitation but Vedran Princ or Ermin Jazvin (210-C-80, agency: Alti Sport) who achieved great results have been left home. Hence it is no surprise that Adnan Hodzic (203-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Lipscomb) left the camp after not getting even a single minute to prove that he can help the team.

Only 13 days before the EC starts Harun Mahmutovic called Ermin Jazvin asking him whether he would join the NT. Ermin Jazvin proved many times that he is completely devoted to the BIH NT despite being only needed for his tough defence and his help for his guard who struggle to get rid of their defender not for his powerful post-up moves. Having seen the last appearances of the BIH NT it is exactly what the team needs but as far as Sabit Hadzic doesn t have any idea of the basketball he wants to be played and unless he frees himself of the strong ties to basketball managers surrounding the team and the puppets helping them to sell their players through NT caps it is highly doubtful whether he will risk his reputation in such a kamikaze action.

And yes why should a player like Sinanovic, Begic, Rizvic, Preldzic, Nedim Djedovic should play for a private basketball team as long as the coach and the whole staff of KSBIH don t have the same pro level they have in countries like Slovenia, Germany, Spain, Turkey?

Man, another star not playing for us. Hodzic leaves the NT. :(

    Germany 86:64 Bosnia

We failed, yet again, against another power team die to our large lack of rebounding. Our form is horrific, I'm not expecting the slighest taste of success at EC 2011. Anyways, an article for the game:

Germany rally past Bosnia and Herzegovina in friendly - Aug 23, 2011 (by Eurobasket News)

Germany - Bosnia and Herzegovina 86:64 Germany celebrated a comfortable win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in friendly clash. Robin Benzing (208-F-89) stepped up with 19 points to lead the effort. Germany led from start to finish. They posted a 22:14 lead after ten minutes of action. The margin soon grew at double digits. Germany built a comfortable 48:35 halftime advantage. Robin Benzing and Nowitzki stretched the margin to 19-point mark at the start of the third term The German team arrived at the final intermission up by 20 points 66:46. Germany stayed well in control throughout the final stanza and rallied to the victory at the end. Tim Ohlbrecht (211-C/F-88) posted 13 points, while Chris Kaman (213-C-82, college: Cent.Michigan) added 12 points in the winning effort. Sasa Vasiljevic (183-G-79, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 13 points for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Varda explains true reasons of departure - August 24, 2011 (by Nedzad Kladusak)

It s been a kind of a earthquake as Ratko Varda decided to leave the NT camp since he was expected to become the key player for the upcoming EC in Lithuania.
He didn t want to give any comments on the reasons for his sudden departure but after KSBIH claimed that he asked for a 25 minutes playtime guarantee he explained the reasons
    for his decision.
After a series of lost and poorly played games in Slovenia he asked Sabit Hadzic what he is supposed to do and which system has been chosen by Hadzic. Hadzic couldn t specify the kind of system he wants to be played and replied ' The system I want to be played'. Varda who has been coached by coaches of Real Madrid, Zalgiris, Pistons felt the incompetence and basic ethics of Hadzic and since he played for teams other players of our NT will only watch on TV he decided to leave the camp.
Despite the statements of KSBIH that Varda is not fit he signed only three days later a contract with the slovenian powerhouse Union Olimpija presenting KSBIH like a band of clowns.

Everyone who watched the game against Germany last night has seen that there is no vision, no discipline and plenty of egoism in the BIH NT. Teletovic, Djedovic and Gordic have shot more balls than the rest of the team! Teletovic and the self-proclaimed leader Djedovic made only 3 of 14 threepointers. I am not talking about shots in the 18th second, standing 7m away from the basket, almost undefended since the ball circulated very well. No we are talking about shots against one, two or three sevenfooters in the 5 th second of your attack or shots from 9m while your teammate is left wide-open. I don t know what Hadzic told them but it seems to be something like ' you are my go-to-guy, you are the chosen one. Forget about your center when you play pick n roll. Dunk over the MVP of the NBA or one of the best centers in the NBA! It doesn t matter that there is a center who is about 216cm with endless arms'. Many times Jazvin and Bavcic have set their sreens rolling for a easy lay up but they never got a pass of Djedovic or Gordic. It has been more than evident than Bajramovic and Teletovic can t guard a true center like Kaman who violently bumped Bajramovic and finished with a thunderous dunk. Kikanovic showed clearly why he has got a chance to become a good PF but also why he will never be a center or a substitution for Varda, Jazvin or Bavcic.

Djedovic still dreams his dream to become a european class SG. He is still young and maybe he will become a true SG but unless he doesn t correct his shooting mechanics he is only a very quick slashing but physically underdevelopped SF. The former German NT PG Pascal Roller noticed that the Bosnian offense is very unidimensional, simple, uninspired. Assuming that the coach defines the strategy of his team these attributes are not really flattering but correspond to the image of Hadzic.
So it is not a surprise that Kapelan or Tuljkovic who can bring outstanding shooting talent or solid defense and athletic skills have never been part of the relevant set of Sabit Hadzic.

It seems that the upcoming EC will be a shooting session for a couple of players while most others will be only relevant for the team photograph.

France - Bosnia and Herzegovina 85:60

France cruised past Bosnia and Herzegovina in the friendly clash. Tony Parker (183-PG-80) stepped up with 21 points to lead the effort.
Bosnia and Herzegovina ensured an almost perfect start to the game. The visitors scored 25 points in the starting frame to post a 3-point lead. But Les Bleus took over in the second term. The hosts erased the deficit and posted a 45:39 halftime advantage. The third term turned decisive in this one. Les Bleus outgunned their opponents 25:5 to enter the fourth quarter up by 26 points 70:44. The home team did not slow down in the fourth period cruising to the victory at the end. Nando De Colo (202-G-87) posted 18 points, while Joakim Noah (211-F/C-85, college: Florida) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the victory. Henry Domercant (192-G-80, college: E.Illinois) answered with 23 points for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mirza Teletovic (206-F-85, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds in the loss

Bosnian National Team Head Coach Sabit Hadzic made his last two cuts. The Bosnian specialist thanked Mujo Tuljkovic (203-F-79, agency: Beo Basket) and Diego Kapelan (190-G-87) for their service during the preparation period and they will not be part of the team in Lithuania.

Bosnian NT: Mirza Teletovic (206-F-85, agency: Beo Basket), Kenan Bajramovic (206-F-81), Nihad Dedovic (196-F-90, agency: Beo Basket), Elmedin Kikanovic (210-C-88, agency: Beo Basket), Sasa Vasiljevic (183-G-79, agency: Beo Basket), Ermin Jazvin (210-C-80, agency: Alti Sport), Milan Milosevic (205-F-85, agency: Beo Basket), Edin Bavcic (210-F/C-84, agency: Beo Basket), Henry Domercant (192-G-80, college: E.Illinois), Goran Ikonic (196-G-80, agency: Beo Basket), Nemanja Gordic (194-G-88) and Aleksej Nesovic (189-G-85, agency: Beo Basket).

Bosnia is placed to Preliminary Group D of the EuroBasket. Their rivals in this pool will be Montenegro, FYROM, Greece, Croatia and Finland. The championship starts on Wednesday and Bosnia will meet Greece in opening day. After that, Bosnia will play against Montenegro. Three best teams from Group D will advance to the Qualifying Round. Also it is important to mention that finalists of EuroBasket will directly qualify for the Olympic Games in London. Third, fourth, fifth and sixth ranked teams will participate in Additional Qualifying Tournament.

    ----------

That's our team, and the article also explains about how the first round works.

Lithuania cuts the ribbon signalling the start of Eurobasket 2011!

Lithuania cut the ribbon signaling the start of EuroBasket 2011 that will start tomorrow. The Official Opening Ceremony of EuroBasket 2011 saw a World Record. More than 55,000 fans bounced a basketball simultaneously, for a period of five minutes, in six different cities across the Baltic State.
Six cities will host the event: Alytus, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Vilnius. The qualifying matches are to be played at the Siemens Arena in the capital Vilnius and the playoffs at the new Zalgiris Arena in Kaunas.
Siemens Arena, is the second largest arena in Lithuania. Siemens Arena is the first universal arena of international level in Lithuania. Siemens Arena was built in the Vilnius Entertainment Park territory.
Zalgiris Arena is an indoor arena in Kaunas. It is located on an island of the Nemunas River. It can host more than 15000 spectators. The arena was opened on 18 August 2011.

I'm pretty excited to see this tournament start tomorrow. I'm just glad that we'll be represented, a great feeling it shuld be. We play Greece tomorrow for the start of our tournament (this will be our seventh appearance). I'll be glad if we can make this game even close, let's say 5-10 points in a loss. In this tournament, an accomplishment would be getting to the second round. Anyone else want to comment (probably not :D)?

Well, we still have Mirza Teletovic (one of the best three-point shooters in Europe; plays in Spanish league) and Nihad Dedovic (future NBA Drafte Pick). Even Adnan Hodzic is a nice star for th future (plays in American college Lipscomb; dominates his league). And from the U16's, Mirlame Halilovi is such a beats. He lead our team in every single stat, literally. So we a have a few good players, plus vets like Henry Domercant and Kenan Bajramovic who can definitely chip in for the team. We'll definitely get steamrolled against Greece though, maybe a 15-20 point loss. After that, we play Montenegro (probable loss but we'll see), Finland (easy win for sure), Croatia (definite blowout and loss), and Macedonia (50-50 on this won, but we beat them at the Ex-Yu Cup). By the way, you'll probably find the games for us here:

    So the final score is

    Greece 76:67 Bosnia and Herzegovina

I loved the way our boys played really, tough on the boards. Our guards were obviously the best n the team, especially Menaja Gordic. Good game from us, and keep in mind this is the group's top seed. Kikanovic led us with 15 points, by the way. Pretty surprising, but Teletovic did have a bad game.

    On to Montegro tomorrow. :)

We win, to me unexpectedly, and I thought we played very well. 15/33 from downtown, and our defense was pretty good. You should've seen after the game when the team and the BH Fanaticos/fans were chanting and stuff like that together, a beautiful sight to see.

But you can't expect the 3s to fall like this through the whole tournament. Two big games coming up against Finland and Macedonia.

I think Finland will be an easy task to handle, so is Macedonia except slightly more difficult. If we beat these two teams, getting through to the second round is almost a guarantee.

We lost to Finland 92-64 yesterday. *facepalm

But, we beat Croatia today!! The score was 92-80. Teletovic and Domercant were on fire this game!! The table now looks like this:

    EuroBasket 2011 Group C
Team Pld W L PF PA GA Pts.
    1) Macedonia 4 3 1 287 274 1.047 7
    2) Greece 4 3 1 286 255 1.121 7
    3) Bosnia and Herzegovina 4 2 2 317 334 0.949 6
    -------------------------------------
    4) Croatia 4 2 2 327 330 0.990 6
    5) Finland 4 1 3 302 301 1.003 5
    6) Montenegro 4 1 3 292 317 0.921 5

The top three of the group move on to the second round. We face Macedonia tomorrow, and a win would mean moving on to the next round (which we've never done except once before, other times, we lose in first round).
