Very interesting article about Werder's current situation, unfortunately German only. It seems like our board can imagine to sell a part of the club to a investor, similar to what Bayern did a few years ago, when they sold 10% of their shares to Adidas.

In principle, such a step is relatively easy to realise for Werder. Unlike HSV, for example, the professional football division of Werder Bremen is independent, and in principle, shares can be sold.

Werder shouldn´t do it with the current financial management.
I fear, they could choose a bank from Iceland. ;) :(

Nah, serious. I think many mistakes were made by some people
from the management, especially at the stadium renovation.
I don´t call any names, but people, who are interested in it,
only needs to search for topics like "Werder Stadionausbau".
Then they get the people, who burned a lot of money.

Müller blew it indeed, but will resign in a year anyway, so that should help...

A deal like Munich has with Adidas would be nice, but I do not want to see some billionaire buying 49% of Werder and using our team as a toy.
Of course, there would still be the supervisory board, but there´s no doubt that a ManCity-like investor would have some influence on the club.
"Money makes the world go round."

To be honest: I´d rather have Tosic for 2 million than Kaka for 120 million, this is simply sick.
I am definitely no upholder of moral standards, but there is so much pain and poverty in the world making me realise how pointless football actually is.

Munich got like 85 million € couple of years ago for selling 20% of the club to Adidas, which, in my opinion, was a brilliant move by the management.
It did not affect the work of management and coaches, was not too popular in the media and earned Bayern an ass full of money.

But such deals can´t and won´t happen.
Nobody gives Werder more than 20 million €
and if so not without having influence.

We are neither Bayern, who got their ass pumped with
money compared to the rest of the league*,
nor Real Madrid, who got about 500 million €
from the city for their training camp and new area
for the new training center, that was even more valuable
from ground prices than the old one, for free.

*Not internationally, if you read the second part of the sentence. ;)

Sure, if a serious, reliable investor can be found, it´s a chance for the club.
But i don´t expect an investor is nowadays willingly to pay a good sum.
The club should wait for a better economic situation IMO.
If they need money to realize a certain project, other ways can be found,
for example selling the name of the stadium. I had no problem to visit the
"Beck´s Arena" where every fan gets a beer shower after each goal. :D ;)

From next season on it´s likely, that we have another logo on the shirts: Credit Mutuel.

    Background:
The French bought the German subdivision of the Citibank.
Beside the logo change no other change are talked.

That's actually good news, since Citybank are in huge trouble these days.

AIG, Manchester United's sponsor, just announced that they won't extend the contract, for example. Another American financial giant in deep trouble, owned by the US government now.
