dont know if this is the right thread to do it. but im gonna post it here anyways, I am asking for any input even if its stupid, for im about to get into the nastiest fight of my life which is for my kids....... as some of u might know, me and my wife are separated, and since my surgery, luck has not been on my side financially. im trying to pull away and get some stability, and I think I can get this by the end of september.

problem is, that now she wants to change the kids school. here are her arguments:

1. her mom will take care of them for free since she works there she can pick them up and take care of them for 2 hours.
2. when she moved away, she moved far from the kids school.
3. she says that if the kids get sick, her mom can take care of them.
4. she claims she doesnt have any money to pay for a babysitter or aftercare money.

my arguments are as follows:

1. my oldest, who is in 5th grade, is attending one of the best top rated schools in arizona, and is a straight A student there and is on the principals list. there is a waiting list for enrollments in that school and its usually about a year. my son was changed from school in the past and things didnt go too well for him, he suffered emotionally and his grades suffered substantially. by taking a hint from the past, I already know pwnage is awaiting my oldest if he is changed schools.

2. the school that she wants to put him in is in the ghetto. enough said.

3. I found a babysitter who will pick up my kids and take them to my house for 200 a month. she is only taking care of them for 2 hours. since my kids get out of school at 3 and I get out of work at 5. we both can afford 50.00 a week god damn it.

4. my kids dont want to move to another school. my oldest has even gone as far as telling me and his mom that he does not want to live with her mom anymore due to her moving the kids to another school.

so those are it.

now negotiations broke down just today, she said she made the decision, she will take them to the new school on monday, I said I will meet her there to take them out and take them back to their old school.

there is no custody order, or anything legal. so far we had done this on our own agreements. but now we cant agree.

I dont want to go to court, I know in AZ they are unfair to the fathers and there is a case history to prove it.



what do you think should my next step is aside from getting a lawyer?

I think you have a legitimate reason to be upset and to not want to move your kids out of their school. Compromise. If it really means that much to you, pay for the babysitter yourself so she won't have to pay anything.

You can't reason with b.. women. Plus, they argue to get you mad- not to win or anything.

It comes down to whether you both want the best for your children and how and where you educate them. It shouldn't be about what is more convenient for either of you.
