LOL! That Pontons dude probably thought he had the final cut in the bag. Well, I'm sure he'll play with more balls the next time around.

I don't like the fact that's he's out, if he really is out, but I hope it's for sthg other than soccer related. I know bolivians are too proud sometimes, but we can't just ignore that he plays for milan.

Here's a note I found. He plays for their lower division. I didn't know he had a brother.
On another player, Blooming paid $40,000 to retain the Sabja kid, which means they think he's a good prospect too.

    Alex y Jorge Pontons Paz

Another kid I hadn't heard about.

    Wow Cool!

Where did you get this info? Its good to see that our youth are going abroad and finally getting spotted, this could only mean good things, as Tahuichi before was considered the best place where bolivian players developed, now maybe we can have our kids developed by big outside developers like Milan or River, we can maybe one day have a messi or Gio Dos Santos!

Anyone remember that kid that moved to spain from argentina? He was a paceno and a great goal scorer, and was said to be looked at by tottenham and real madrid when he gets older.

LOL, c'mon Fuego keep up, his info was only on the first page of this thread:p

The Israeli kids got a spot on the team without even practicing with the rest of the guys and this kid was with the team the whole time, is in the Milan youth set up and doesn't make it? Something is not right. He didn't get to play in the two friendlies in Argentina because of the illness he caught, maybe it's more serious than initially thought. Sucks either way.

Last I heard that kid was out of the river youth set up and was playing on some low level regional team in Argentina. He should go back to Bolivia and try his luck at one of the teams, with the parity in the league he might just end up on a champ team in Libertadores:eek:

    LOL True!

Yea about the milan kid, sounds to me like a conspiracy against him, or he isnt liked much for something outside of his futbol'ing style.

    Maybe the kid caught mono?

El Deber reports that the following might be the starting line up for the tournament:

In case Fuego missed it here are the players selected for the tournament. jejeje, sorry Fuego couldn't help it:

two things to note about the video. First, you know this kid will be a star if he can confidently sport the mullet as proudly as he does. Second, if you fastforward to 2:37 to the clip, he's playing against a team in red. The golie for the read team wears 99 and looks like a mini M3, even sporting his number

These videos are a dime a dozen, youtube has everyone in the world proclaiming their 6 yr olds the next messi, 'dinho or ronaldo:rolleyes: They're just kids who are having fun, parents coaches and others really should just let them be kids before they anoint them anything.

Back on topic, it looks like that will be the starting lineup although I'm sure they'll work Zabala and the other Israeli kid in the lineup eventually once they actually practice some more with the team.

Hey what better way to promote them...

Anyway, it looks like they won't be playing the friendly they had planned against Peru due to weather conditions. They have good generation coming up too, would have been nice to play against.

Looks like we can't catch a break, first the friggin ebola virus breaks out and takes out our guys and now looks like two starters wont even make the trip. Ricardo Bejarano(Guabira) and Lorgio Suarez (U de Chile) are injured and doubtful for the tourney. They were projected starters. Coach is actually trialing a couple of kids from the semillero futbol school to take their spots:eek: Not good when you're practically pulling kids off the street to make up your team.

No friendlies, the Pontons kid mistery, outbreak monkey infection, two starters now injured and being replaced by kids from a local futbol school:( Not looking good guys.

Either way Happy New year folks, don't drink and drive and remember to diversify your portfolios:D

    Re: BOLIVIA Sub-20

It appears that the u-20 team might still have a chance. The two central defenders Suarez and Bejarano that are injured are supposedly recovering quickly, and the coach decided to wait for them. If everything goes well, they should be practicing normally monday of next week.

    Re: BOLIVIA Sub-20

Starting defenders are worth waiting for.

This may be rest well needed. I remembered being injured for 2 weeks and when I came back (cross country,LOL), I thought I'd barely be able to keep up with the JV squad. To my surpise, I was running faster then my normal practice runs, and pulled a personal best in a meet 2 days later.

    Sometimes the body needs rest.

Sub20 cant catch a break, the two friendlies with Peru fell through, and it now looks like the team wont be able to travel early to the tourney and play a few local squads or at least practice in the place theyll play. Theyll have to travel two days before the first game.

It's going to be very tough to advance from this group, i'll be very surprised if we do.
