I called this match or matches to be very physical. It's a Libertadores final and it's how these teams to a degree play.
It's hard for me to get a real feel for this match, although Boca has started taking a bit more control in the last 5 minutes or so. My God, Ervitti runs himself to the ground every single match.
I said in another thread that Erviti reminded me of Sorin with how he plays the game. Almost a goal if not for the foul!
I think it was for getting involved in that fight (..if you can even call it that haha ). I'm not quite sure.
Cagey first half with few openings. Passing has been a little wayward, hopefully we can work the ball a bit more in th esecond half and relax a little in possesion. As much as I like Roncaglia, he is in danger of being sent off.
Halftime in what has been a physical match with little in the way of real good chances for either side. I sensed Boca was starting to find a bit of a groove offensively towards the later part of the half. Corinthians has come out as I expected them to. Here's hoping the second half opens things up a bit.
Very tight physical match.Corinthians are doing a good job of stopping us ie not letting Roman get on the ball . Erviti needs to keep his cool as well,we need everyone on the pitch here!
I must say I'm not overly impressed by Corinthians, they seem resolute at the back, but thats about it.
This is going to be a very tough final. There's good reason why Corinthians made it this far. They don't look pretty but they are solid. Goals will be at a premium, and whoever scores first will have a huuuuuge advantage. That's why boca needs "contundencia". If they get a chance, they need to put it away. Roncaglia better be careful, he's living on borrowed time.
I would not be opposed to that. Roncaglia is a red card risk every single match. For that reason, I will not be missing him the next campaign. He and Rivero pick up the stupidest cards; JMI is not too far behind either.
Think that's just their style. They certainly don't have the same flair as Santos but they are effective. They would be delighted to come away with a draw
Not really Corinthians have been more of a threat than Chelsea were but it's clear their focus is defence.Which is fair enough for an away game at La Bombonera!
A little more speed in attack would do wonders for Boca, I think. With S.S. Roman and Silva out there, that seems to play into the hands of Corinthians. Mouche's speed could make the difference. Roman with a near miss. Boca has started with some urgency in this half.
Moooucheeee noooooo! Boca is now playing better, Don Libertadores is starting to appear, but we can't miss the usual chances, cause Corinthians won't give up much.
