The "recambio" continues, as Riquelme and Roncaglia are out with minor injuries while Clemente and Rivero are suspended. Look for Chavez and Ledesma in midfield -Ledesma by now is probably the default starter anyway-, and Sosa and Sanchez Miño as fullbacks. Plus, with Cvitanich and Blandi available, Falcioni has plenty of options up front.

    Likely lineup (4-3-1-2):

[LINEUP-4-4-2]Silva, Cvitanich/Mouche, Erviti, Chavez, Somoza, Ledesma, Sanchez Miño, Insaurralde, Schiavi, Sosa, Orión[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

Coming off a three day rest, playing against a very good team, it's going to be a very tough match.

Coupled with the Tigre loss yesterday a win for us will put us at the top alone. This will be a tough match but with the confidence we have from the other night I like our chances.

The big news for Estudiantes is that "La Brujita" Verón will play. In addition, Mauro Boselli will play against Boca -where he was formed- for the first time in his career. Also returning are Enzo Perez and La Gata Fernandez.

On the other hand, Rodrigo Braña is still hurt, while Christian Cellay cannot play due to those ridiculous stipulations that teams make when trading players.

    Likely lineup:
Mariano Andújar; Gabriel Mercado, Matías Sarulyte, Leandro Desábato, Raúl Iberbia; Enzo Pérez, Matías Sánchez, Juan Sebastián Verón, Mariano González; Gastón Fernández, Mauro Boselli.

This is a key game against probably the biggest rival for Boca this season in the quest to repeat as champions. Needless to say, it will be tough. Estudiantes is in first place, unbeaten, and relatively fresh, since they are not playing Copa Libertadores.

One interesting fact is that Boca has won more official games against Estudiantes than against any other team, and leads the series 97 wins to 37 loses, with 40 draws. But of course we all remember vividly the title they took from us in the 2006 playoff. It's time to get them back and take over first place!

    VAMOS BOCA!!!

Im confident, but a draw wouldnt be terrible. It reminds me of the away game at lanus last year, if we win here we could really kick on and go for the title.

    I say estudiantes 1-2 boca

But it looks like newells is our new team to beat at the top, they just tore apart racing, is that the same team that couldnt buy a win recently?

What a cracking match so far. Both teams playing really well, but Boca has been a little sharper in front of goal.
Silva finally opens his account and Ledesma yet again coming up big. This one has more goals in store though. I hope we can hang on.

It's awesome to finally see Silva scored. He really deserved it because he's been working so hard. And Ledesma, wow! He's always there.

Funny, I had a bad feeling about this game, and it's turning out beautifully so far. Shows how much I know...

I agree. There will probably be more goals in this game the way they are playing, and the next goal will define the game one way or the other. Easy win or tough nail-biting battle.

    Vamos Boca, get another one!!!

Good! It was very important that we don't conceede before the half. The first 20 minutes or so of the 2nd will be very important. Good old Falcioni futbol and a couple counter opportunities should get this done.

The passing has really been great today so far, thats the thing that has impressed me, and the defence has managed to remain solid. Recently our attack has improved yet the defence gone sloppy, but so far tonight we are playing good in all areas.

Im supposed to be waking up in 5 hours to go to work, but i cant turn this game off.

Very enjoyable game between the top two teams in the standings. I give credit to the Pinchas for coming to play, but fortunately Boca has been able to handle everything they threw at us so far and we've been able to hurt them.

I'm very impressed with the team the last couple of games. We were a bit unfortunate against Lanus and Arsenal, with the two red cards, but we still got out of it with a win and a draw. It seemed like this season we weren't getting some of the lucky breaks that we were getting last season, but in this game so far we are. Things do tend to even out, and as long as we keep playing this way we'll be just fine.

    As for Silva, start counting!

Nice first half indeed, wide open and pretty cleanly played on both sides. I'm also in the group that sees us scoring more.....a lot more. Orion has also been really good so far and made a few nice saves. Hat trick for Silva?

One big plus point for us, is we have more goals in the team, ledesma is on fire, i love rivero but he doesnt contribute in terms of goals, roman is scoring, mouche has been reincarnated as a footballer and now we have el tanque zooming in on goal. And of course cvitanich and blandi, Plus others like sanchez mino erviti adding a goal now and then.

Whats happened though? In the apertura everyone was drawing 0-0, and now its goals galore.

I didnt wanna say it and jinx us, but since u ask, i got a feeling it could finish 4-1 or 4-2 to boca, with silva adding at least 1 more

BTW, I don't dispute that Verón is a very good player and very important for Estudiantes, but that careless pass he made in midfield that led to the play that resulted in Boca's second goal is something I've seen him do many times, including back when he used to play for the National team. Used to make me cringe, but I'm glad it happened this time.

Anyone noticed this referee is getting in the way constantly?

Mouche for Cvitanich. Darío had some chances but he was a bit off today.

We need to regain the ball, we are letting them attack too much. Román is missed, Chavez needs to assert himself more.

If you go back far enough, you'll see a similar thing for the first goal. he gave it away real cheaply, which led to the throw in that led to the goal.
