Funny enough, when KDB was at Genk, read in a report from Belgium that Chelsea scout who used to look after his progress made positive remarks about Benteke to Genk officials & also encouraged about moving to PL. Benteke was at that time, not a top performer there but could score goals along with Vossen.
I like Lukaku and think he has a huge upside but atm Benteke seems to fit the sytle of football we are looking for. Of course it helps that he was in a position where he has been given more than ample time to blood in and work through some of the challenges to adapting to the League.
sometimes I forget how spoiled we have become with the telly coverage I remember being lucky to catch a Monday game when occasionally broadcast on ESPN and today there are four live matches being shown
I like the look of Benteke as well. Not sure how long he'll be at Villa for, he's seems to be a very well-rounded football. The numpties in the British press keep banging on about the 'controversy' of Bent being dropped, but when you see Benteke play it's pretty obvious why Lambert prefers him.
I first saw Benteke when he was just 18 years old and still at Mechelen. I came away very impressed even though he had fluffed four gilt-edged chances. But even then his movement was superior and he was brilliant in the combination with his wingers and midfielders.
I only saw him at Genk only, with Vossen. Benteke is one bit like Darren Bent, can score goals but never a classy striker.
I really wish we'd see this honesty from other managers. Not saying Moyes is my pick for the Chelsea job but I appreciate how he handles the media. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20743793
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20744570 I wonder why this isnt being splashed all over the papers...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20747164 hope he is alright and able to make a full recovery. I remember him quite well. Think he scored a couple against us.
Scored against us in a game I attended back in the day and was comfortably the best player on the pitch (a match we lost 2-1 and were completely outplayed). It was a midweek match in 1994 (i'd been to several that year including a great run in the Cup and the Kerry Dixon match at Wembley) and there were fewer than 9,000 at the Bridge that day. NINE thousand. This was our line-up (Dmitri Kharin - Darren Barnard, Steve Clarke, Michael Duberry, Erland Johnsen, Frank Sinclair - Craig Burley, David Hopkin, Eddie Newton - Tony Cascarino, Robert Fleck). But as much as it was a rubbish match, it was exactly these types of occasions why I don't get too depressed about our current situation. It was a hell of a lot worse and lends significant perspective. Doesn't mean I'm happy but makes me grateful for what we do have now. NB Safe to say, we don't have as vibrant a BigSoccer community if we were putting teams like that out every week.
Chalobah scored for Watford over the weekend. Can't find a video of it though. Zola's men are one spot outside the playoff places (2 pts back). McEachran's Boro are up to third after beating Wolves, just three points behind Cardiff and one behind Palace for the auto promotion spots.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20700529 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...dani-Udinese-fan-Sampdoria-Serie-A-clash.html good for him. Heard that he got a signed jersey from the Udinese players as well.
Or as Morgan Freeman says "you're not a rascist, you're just an asshole" We just caught a break on the Fellaini suspension. Looks like he will be out against us on the 29th?
