    4. Bigger Boat [37 points - gw35]

Oh, how much fun I was going to have with this one. Unfortunately, a crazy week at work and time slips by. Interesting comments from Sonabert about the trapdoor. I had planned to announce the news of some return teams next week, but that doesn't sound so original anymore.... :(;)

And, I had many a rant concocted for SirBB, but it just feels like I would be picking on him under the circumstances. So, free pass. For now. But there's always next week.

FCWeymouth (41), WhataBunch (44) and Kopite (59) march on. With the margin of departure being a mere 4 points, Bigger Boat will surely be asking questions about the -2 put up Cuellar, as well as second guessing himself for leaving any number of available Sand players unpicked.

Taking a quick look at the history thread, here is the past BE-Cup champs:

    2011-2012: ThiKu Mariners FC
    2010-2011: FC Weymouth
    2009-2010: LSG Cambridge
    2008-2009: Duck Butter Bandits
    2007-2008: Kopite Juniors

Kopite and FCW looking to grab a second BE-Cup. Can WhataBunch stop them?

Between Weymouth and me it looks like, but still a long way to go in this GW. Whatabunch already has 45

No bonus points awarded yet and still a bunch of midweek matches, but after today's games here is how we stand:
    Whatabunch - 51
Me - 48 (will Mata get the goal, being ruled an OG and Mata assist at the moment?)
    FC Weymouth - 34

For the remaining four matches, I still have Robles (WIG), Rangel (SWA), Johnson (STO), Mata (Che), Yaya Toure (C) (Man City) - but he may be injured, Torres (Che) and Long (WBA)

Whatabunch has Robles (Wig), Vertonghen (Tot), Hernandez (Swa), Beausejeur and Maloney (Wig), Barry, Silva and Ageuro (C) (Man C), and Long (WBA)

FC Weymouth has Cameron (Sto), Kone (Wig), McClean (Sun) and Caulker (Tot)

    3. FC Weymouth [47 points - gw36]
    4. Bigger Boat [37 points - gw35]

You guys have covered most of it already. Kopite ends with 72 and Whatabunch with 67, to advance to the final. And, with back to back departures, Sand is the second league to be completely eliminated.

In a season where several gameweeks have ended with tiebreakers, it is odd/noteworthy that FCW's departure on 47 points ties the high mark for points by an eliminated team, with Top Shelf and Central Park leaving on that number as well.

In terms of overall scores, and using the All Rocks average as the barometer, this past week was the highest scoring week of the season, coming in at 60.59/team, and just edging the 60.50/team in gw23 and the 60.16/team in gw26. FYI, I've calculated the average on the season at 47.04 currently, coincidentally this week's elimination score....

While the winner of this week's matchup between Kopite and Whatabunch will take home the BE-Cup, we are also proud to announce that a sponsors came through with additional funding and there has been a side competition going on throughout the season, called the 2nd Chance. Each of these teams has been eliminated, but has then proceeded to score above the elimination week in every subsequent week:
    Tyrant (gw19)
    Keysersoze (gw30)
    blechs_dawgs (gw31)
    Central Park Rangers (gw33)
    Vegas Virgins (gw34)
    Bigger Boat (gw35)
    FCWeymouth (gw36)

Obviously, tilted towards teams eliminated later as they've had fewer weeks to avoid the boot from the 2nd Chance, and major kudos to Tyrant as the team eliminated longest ago but still alive. So, here's how it will work -- there is still one BE-Cup week to go, and each of these 7 teams will have to at least equal the score put up by the loser of the Kopite-Whatabunch finale to advance to the gw38 final, where they will be joined by BE-Cup runner up. Those teams will then play winner take all in gw38 for the 2nd Chance title -- highest gw38 score wins. (Note: if the lower score this week of Kopite-Whatabunch outscores everyone else, then this will end with a fizzle).

    BE Cup Final
    Kopite 32 v. 31 Whatabunch

Arsenal v Wigan and Reading v Man City left ...

Cup looks like it is going to Whatabunch, he still has 5 players left (Koscielny, Mertesacker, Barry, Silva, and Aguero) my Kopite Jrs. only have one player left (Yaya Toure).

Mancini could send out the reserves ... but very much doubt it.

Mancini rested all 3 of Barry, Silva & Aguero just a couple games ago , I'm not taking anything for granted following their performances in the FA Cup final.
