International weeks always get me nervous. Excited for the players to do well but please no injuries.

Indeed and with Blackpool now having so many internationals it is more chance for injuries.

Dekel Keinan was an unused substitute last night for Israel.

Neither Charlie Adam or Matt Gilks are in the Scotland starting line-up for tonight's game.

David Vaughan is in the Wales starting line-up for their game tonight. But Neal Eardley misses out.

Not sure yet whether David Carney is in the Australia team for their match later.

Half time for Wales and they are losing 1-0 to Montenegro.

Craig Cathcart looks set to cap a remarkable start to the 2010-11 season and is set to start for Northern Ireland this evening, making his debut for the national side.

And very oddly Charlie Adam misses out on the Scotland squad tonight even though the likes of 40 year old David Weir is set to play. Strange descision, but at least it means he won't get injured. Matt Gilks wasn't expected to feature and he is also not in the match day squad, but it is a surprise that Charlie won't feature.

Former Blackpool loanee Joe Hart was instrumental in the "Perfect Ten" at the end of the 2006-07 season which catapulted the Seasiders from the depths of the bottom two divisions of the Football League back up to the Championship for the first time in 30 years.

And during his short spell at the seaside it was clear that he would be a future England keeper. And right now he is playing superbly well in his competitive debut for England in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria at Wembley.

Both Neal Eardley and Matthew Gilks have returned to the club due to injury.

Gilks has withdrawn from the Scotland squad after being assessed by medical staff. He suffered a dead leg against Liverpool and has also been troubled by a knee problem. He damaged his knee and calf when he collided with a post making a second-half save at Anfield.
Eardley, who came off at half-tim in the same game, has been ruled out of the Wales squad with an ankle injury.

Dekel Keinan has headed off for international duty with Israel while Craig Cathcart (Northern Ireland), Charlie Adam (Scotland) and David Vaughan (Wales) have also headed off to play for their respective countries.

Indeed, did he play at right-back for that game?

Two very different games for NorIron to say the least with anything out of the Italy game surely will be a bonus, but victory over the Faroese should be achieved. But this is football of course so expect the unexpected.....

Not sure what is happening with Richard Kingson and David Carney. Neither of them featured in the squad for the Liverpool victory nor the reserves game against Manchester City on Monday.

Ghana have a match but there was a report stating that Kingson had not turned up the other day. There was a rumour though that he been injured in the reserves game at Arsenal. As for Carney I don't know whether Australia have a game or not. They often play games in Europe and in particular in London because most of their players are based in Europe. I've not checked though if they have a game.

    he actually played left back.

as for NI, it'll be a tough test, no doubt, but we tend to be horrible away and pretty strong at home. we're home tomorrow so.............with a bit of luck.........

Ah ha left back - even better for Blackpool.... He has done really well for us and settled in superbly well, playing well in central defence.

I watched some of the Slovenia game and usually do try to watch any NI games I can and will be watching tomorrow as it is live on Sky Sports One (ROI vs Russia on SS2 and Wales vs Bulgaria on SS3 too, while England U21 vs Romania U21 is on ESPN loool) And the game up in the Faroes on Tuesday is also on SS1 at 4pm so can hopefully watch that.

A mixed time so far for the Blackpool lads.

Of course Craig Cathcart missed out on Northern Irelands commendable 0-0 draw at home to Italy (and a great result for them too with a very good atmosphere again created by the Northern Irish fans).

Charlie Adam didn't even make it into the match day squad for Scotland. Their manager Craig Levein isn't exactly making himself Mr Popular, a very strange 6-4-0 line-up totally backfired as the Scots lost to the Czech Republic.

David Vaughan played in the defeat for Wales at home to Bulgaria - not a good result at all.

David Carney did best of all, scoring for Australia. Playing in a role that Ian Holloway would want to see him in at Blackpool, the attacking left-back's sweetly struck volley in the 53rd minute gave the Socceroos a 1-0 win over World Cup quarter-finalists Paraguay in Sydney on Saturday.

Afterward he joked with reporters that he would be bragging about his goal to Ian Holloway:

Asked if he found it frustrating having made just one substitute appearance since his summer move from Dutch champions FC Twente, Carney said it was not getting him down:

Dekel Keinan was another player to miss out. He was not in the Israel squad for their 2-1 defeat at home to Croatia.

Ghana play Sudan today in Kumasi, Ghana in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Looks like Richard Kingson is now with the squad and presumably as their regular keeper will be expected to play.

Aye, I heard that too about back spasms. Bugger.

Apparently Dekel Keinan did play for Israel against Croatia. doh.

A youtube video with highlights from the Australia game against Paraguay. David Carneys goal is at about 1mn 10secs. A well taken goal too.

David Vaughan is set to start tonight as Wales head to Switzerland aware that a third straight defeat would almost certainly end their hopes of qualifying for Euro 2012.

Vaughan said of temporary manager Brian Flynn:

Charlie Adam is hoping to make the Scotland team for the visit of world champions Spain - though I wouldn't hold out much hope, while Dekel Keinan is expected to start Israel's game in Greece.
