Robben was at his very best at the time and delivered some incredible performances. We were lucky to get through Man United really.

Oh so the scoreline was reflective of a terrific performance at old trafford? If it wasn't for that Robben moment of brilliance, we would have been out. Doesn't mean I am not happy with it, of course I am, but we were barely convincing, our defense leaked like wet panties and everything we tried in attack got us nowhere.

Still, we are lucky to have Robben.

the first match in munich we dominated almost 3 quarter of the game..
in Man united we were scared shitless for like the first half an hour of the first half...then we dominated their asses... saying we were lucky is absolutely garbage

Actually we dominated 3/4 of both legs

It was in the first 35mins at OT that Utd shred us apart, we had the other 135mins of the total 180 under our control

Can anyone verify why Kroos came off? He was banged up earlier, was just curious if it was tactical or due to his ability to carry on.

Game changed once Alaba and Olic stepped on the pitch. Naturally Bayern were forced to chase the game so the tempo and straigh ahead approach were different than the first half, but Alaba and Olic added so much more life to the attack.

Even my favorite whipping boy, Mueller, looked better with Olic alongside him. This is why I am wondering if Kroos wasn't a tactical move to free up the movement of the team and less possession oriented.

The movement of the ball was fantastic during this period. And apart from an amazing save on Mueller fine effort late, Bayern looked the better team far and away.

I just laugh when I read comments by HSV captain stating they "should have had 2 points".

    In reflection,

Loved the ending lineup. Lahm right, Alaba left. Boateng was excellent at CB.
Olic's inclusion into the lineup needs to occur earlier now. As does Alaba's.
Its time that performances are called out on some of these players, and better performers are put in.

The 'grace period' of the first half of the season is over now. Either put up or shut up.
CL is in the no-forgiveness phase, and the Bundesliga campaign is in the can't-afford-to-drop-points phase.

    Make the changes Jupp.
Well done. I think you are onto something.

Amazing that at 19 Alaba is our most capable and versatile utility player. Really speaks to his fussball intellect, especially compared to other more experienced players.

Get this kid more time on the field.

^^FO better keep him, he will mature into a regular, I don't want to see another 'Hummels' situation.

    Completely agree....

This has been what I have been preaching after the 3rd game he got for us this season.
The potential is massive, moreso than any other Bayern product I have seen in years, including Mueller and Schweini.

Jupp has been on record saying that "by next season, Alaba will be a household name in the Bundesliga" (paraphrased).

    I believe it.

Any chance Alaba can partner Schweini?

    Gomez
    ribery Kroos Muller/shaquiri

    Alaba Schweini

    Lahm Badstuber Boateng rafihna

My ideal starting line up for next season if we dont buy any defenders.

I would rotate alaba with gustavo on a regular basis

call me crazy, but robben has not been robben for a long time now and the team plays 10 times better with muller on the wing

He's just not on form, which is why the team isn't doing well with him at the moment. Robben in form is far more effective than Mueller. Either way, if Real Madrid can incorporate Kaka, Ronaldo, Oezil and Di Maria regularly, then Bayern can and should do the same.

I would bench robben the next game as well however, though he and mueller should rotate often. I get the impression Kroos might need a break or two, is it possible Tymo and Gustavo play behind Alaba?
