That's too bad. I don't know how he was as a coach, but he's a really nice guy!

Joe was great, and fondly remember here. Some of us would love to see him return to the club in some capacity or other. Oh, and welcome aboard, @Smoov E.

    go quakes!!

Was that his twin brother who played baseball for the San Jose Giants? If so I met him once. He is a nice guy selling real estate in the South Bay I believe.

joe and landon were roomies and they are both twins.

i don't remember if joe's twin was the baseball player in the family though. colt was the shredder, i believe.

His twin brother was the baseball player, and younger brother the shredder, which makes sense. Don't know how much "shredding" was going on in Joe Cannon's time as an adolescent.

That's Jon Cannon, and he is a VP at Cornish and Carey Commercial in Palo Alto.

I'm not sure where to post this, but Jurgen Kinsman son has committed to CAL. He's a keeper.

I've read from others that saw him on youth teams that he was ok but not great. Cal has like 3 GK's, Justin Taillole, Alex Mangels and Kevin Peach from Mitty HS and they all have more experience so I don't think Kinsman Jr. will have an easy go of it. At least not initially.

Even though GK's are ageless there is no stopping father time. Sooner or later a decision has to be made and Jon Busch can't live forever and he is almost 40. Bingham's time will come.

I believe David missed out on a spot for our last Olympic qualifying team because of injury. Maybe he would have saved the shot from Alas that sank our qualifying campaign.

It has to kill him to watch Johnson for Chicago and Hamid for DC get starting jobs. If he becomes a starter soon, he could have a shot at the next WC team. I think Howard and Rimando will be unlikely to last that long. Guzan will have at least 2 backups.

I know he isn't too happy sitting behind Busch but then not too many players are happy just sitting. He made bonus money for making the game day bench and suiting up making at least an additional $1,500.00 a game. That plus his $100k GA deal probably came out to pretty good cash for a 20-23 year old. Not too many older players make that amount in MLS, at least not a reserve GK. Not sure what his contract will be now that his GA deal is done but I'd assume he would have to make at least a minimum for a 3 year veteran , which would be like $60-70k.

Because Gaspurning was injured. I don't think that makes him better than Bingham. However, I think the Quakes just want Bingham to actually be playing at this time, and not warming the bench behind Busch. If Busch goes down my guess is Bingham gets called back and gets the start ahead of Meredith.

Definitely, at least this make me ACTUALLY think the Quakes rate Bingham.

The agreement states that the Quakes can bring the players back and forth whenever we want. Very Important.

Busch is the second or third oldest player still in MLS ... this will be his last year as a starter is my guess.

Bingham. Meridith will sit on the bench and be an emergency sub, but if Busch gets hurt Bingham is on the next flight to San Jose.

yup, knew we would kick the can down the road another year. Granted Busch hasnt done anything to relinquish it yet, its his to lose. the legend of The Jon continues another season. Could just as easily be another two or three, but naturally given his age everyone will have their eyes on him. If he continues to keep healthy and keep his fitness, like he has shown in the past, i have complete confidence in him. Busch has kept us in many a game in his time here when we should have lost.
