I see Gaudette got called in for international duty with Puerto Rico. I recall Saunders playing for them too in the past. I don't think either guy has any Puerto Rican heritage, but maybe I'm wrong. What are the rules for playing for Puerto Rico?
Since 2008, they have a 2 year residency requirement. Gaudette played for the Islanders for 3 years so he met that requirement. Saunders only played 1 year for the Islanders, so he doesn't meet that requirement which is why he hasn't played for Puerto Rico since 2008.
