Forgive me, but my dentist got me off the sugar and I was hallucinating. I though you were talking about the dare-devil mining engineer turned President, not the phone-tapping mob stooge head of the FBI.

The stuff Nikita did in the Ukraine would be more than justification for choosing him. He and Uncle Lazar collectivized the hell out of those poor Ukies.

Yes he did, but relative to Stalin and Lenin...pansy. Relative to everybody else, quality. Of course, I could be accused of wearing my Stalin-colored glasses...

To be fair to him, he's also the man that brought the world closer to nuclear war than anyone else ever has.

I love the name Joao, though.

At first I thought you were picturing this guy, who turned out OK, but was a bit of a jerk for a spell.

Warner was taken. If we're going to go that route, Havelange should be up there as well as Blatter. But this guy should also be considered:

true. but Warner and especially Blatter were just the stooges who took over from the 'godfather of football' after he had everything set in place.

Yeah, maybe. But Galtieri was a drunk tool. Videla gets most of the 'credit' for the dirty war, and he's by far the bigger, more evil tyrant. As far as the invasion of the Malvinas, Galtieri can be the one held responsible, but I think it was a last ditch effort to stay in power by the hard liners in the military establishment, of which Galtieri was but the figurehead.

    1) King Jong-il (North Korea)
    2) Shah of Iran (Iran)
    3) Mobutu Sese Seko (Zaire)
    4) Muammar al-Gaddafi (Libya)
    5) General Fulgencio Batista y Zaldívar (Cuba)
    6) Sargon (Akkadian Empire)

Good to see Muammar earning his spot in my line up

The exact role of Hirohito in Japan's 20th century atrocities is still highly debatable, so it's tough to classify him as an outright tyrant. The only real clear-cut Japanese tyrant (and unpicked, at that) was Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

I can't believe this guy wasn't selected. Even though he is another 20th century (over represented) tyrant, the amount of killing done in only 4 years of rule deserves mention.

4th over all. In such demand, two tried to pick him at the same time.
